Great tire for me in Colorado
- I've used it several times
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- 27.5 x 2.8
- 260 lbs
Been using this tire for about 2 months now and really love it. Rolls great and the traction has been excellent. The tire ends up at @ 2.6" wide on my 35mm rim not 2.8 like advertised but that hasn't been an issue for me.

Great tire if you don't ride it
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Tire companies still don't have the 27+ thing figured out. Heavy but brittle. Not sure how that combo gets cleared by R&D. Second ride and double pinch flatted (running tubeless, of course). Not running crazy low pressure, not riding crazy terrain, just riding overpriced trash for tires. Buyer beware.

Weird - These tires came stock on my Santa Cruz Hightower and I've got 800+ miles on them without any issues. I've been running mine at 13 - 14 psi and never pinched the tire. I'm 175 lbs kitted up and ride everything from rocky (tahoe) to buffed out (demo forest) trails and they handle everything I throw at them. I even competed in the RockHopper Enduro with these tires. Maybe you got a bad set, but no issues here.

I have put tons of miles on them in the rooty, rocky hills of Mt. Tam and had none of the issues you are describing? What size rims are you running? I highly recommend a 40mm internal width rim as that spreads out the tires properly. I am running them at 12 psi front and 14 psi rear and have had zero issues.

Interesting... I have ridden this tire for almost a year, 5-6 hours a week with ZERO flats... running tubeless 16-20psi

I ride rocky Colorado terrain aggressively with a Rekon + as my rear tire (DHF on the front). My tire has about 1,500 miles on it and is finally ready to be replaced but it's been a bomber tire!

The Ardent of Plus tires
- I've put it through the wringer
The Rekon offers a nice blend of traction and low rolling resistance. Rides similarly to the Maxxis Ardent. I have been running one of these as a rear tire with a little more pressure than normal and it hooks up well and still rolls fast.
