Re-Fuse TR Tire

Maxxis' Re-Fuse TR Clincher Tire has been around long enough to become the brand's most popular training tire for its versatility and dependability — and this version is now tubeless-ready for even more grip, cushion, and flat resistance.

Featuring a smooth diamond-knurled tread pattern, the Re-Fuse is composed of dual-compound rubber and is constructed with a durable 60 TPI to make it a reliable training companion. For added durability on trails with sharp rocks and obstacles, Maxxis includes its MaxxShield bead-to-bead protection. Whether you do the bulk of your training off-road or enjoy being able to hop onto an unpaved road during your road ride, the Re-Fuse makes a well-adapted option mixed surface rides

2nd round - wear fast

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These were my first tubeless tire set-up. I've been riding them on my Cervelo R3 for roughly three years now. My rear tire received a gash on a ride which apparently was just a bit too big for the sealant to keep sealed, as every ride after that, sealant would spray out and attempt to re-seal it. It held air pretty well, but I felt it was just time until I would be out on the road stuck removing my nicely sealed valve and putting a tube into a messy, sticky tire. So, I went shopping... If I had loved these tires, I wouldn't have had to shop very long, as they were on sale and available immediately. But, frankly, as a cost-conscious-road-biker primarily, I don't love them. Compared to my road tires (Gatorskin, Grand Prix 4000s, Grand Prix 4 Season, and Vittoria Rubino Pro), they simply wear-out too fast. After looking at all the 32c gravel options, I ended up buying these again (I do like how they roll on pavement, how they look on my bike, and the "just right" amount of grip they have on fire roads), along with a slightly knobbier/beefier Panaracer Gravelking+ (just in case I get a gash in the new tire). If the new tire expires too quickly, I'll move on to the Panaracer and hope for greater longevity. With regard to mounting, the old Re-Fuse tire came off quickly, using a tire lever to help break the seal, and the new tire went on easily, with roughly equivalent effort to getting a typical road tire on. With a shot of air from a compressor (valve core removed), it was seated first try.

Works well

I bought a set to roll on my gravel bike wheels in the winter on the road. They were recommended from a friend whose opinion I trust and he was right. They roll great, are tough as nails and I felt confident on them on a 45 mph descent. They were a workout to get on but lot's of soapy water and tire levering got them there.

Perfect All-Rounders!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Just switched over to these a few weeks ago as gravel season approaches, and couldn't be happier. First off, they were SUPER easy to mount for me- I set them up tubeless and they only took about 45 minutes from start to finish (which included pulling off the old tubeless tires, by far the bigger time suck). They went on quick, set the first time (using an AirShot inflator) and held seal immediately. I'm only running 32s but these things are comfy and make easy work of light/medium gravel (plus they are super reasonably priced). I haven't gotten into more serious gnar yet but cant wait to give them a bigger challenge!
