Why We Like The Minion DHR II 3C/TR Tire

The Minion DHR II 3C/TR Tire has long been the gold standard for riders wanting maximum traction and cornering grip on steep and loose terrain. With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. The center tread features ramped leading edges for quick accelerations, as well as strategically placed siping for smooth transitions when leaning the bike over. Paddle-like knobs on the center tread dig in under hard braking so you can have full control when you're scrubbing speed before the next technical section. Pair it with a Minion DHF up front for an unstoppable combo for aggressive trail riding.

This version of the DHR II uses Maxxis' Wide Trail construction for an optimal tread profile on modern 30 - 35mm internal width rims. The 3C MaxxTerra compound uses three different durometer rubbers for an ideal balance of outstanding grip, long wear life, and low rolling resistance.

Great Front Tire

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
29" 2.6"
Height:
5' 8"
Weight:
170

I swapped my 29" DHF 2.5" front for a DHRII 2.6" and couldn't be happier. Coming from CO everyone has a DHF front. Now that I'm riding mostly Northwest Arkansas the rides are more flat but still aggressive and loose. The DHRII, Aggressor combo has made my 150/135 bike feel more efficient where I ride with little sacrifice on grip up front. Recommend.

Great tires

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Living in Southern California, these tires do great on our lose over hard terrain. Enough grip for those tight turns and rolls pretty quickly. So far have been durable over some chunky trails

One of my favorties

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Love this tire front and rear, even more so than having a DHF in the front. For some reason I find it more predictable. I also like that it is a 2.4 WT and not something wider. Even better when you get it in EXO+....which can be hard to find.

Still my favorite rear tire

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

It?s been a long time but I keep coming back to the DHR as my preferred rear tire. It?s an absolute classic. I now pair them with an Assegai up front and I have my perfect tire combination for aggressive trail riding out here in Utah. 5 stars.

Great tire

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Came stock on my Pivot Trail 429 . I'm used to riding an XC bike and rode Vittoria Mezcal/AKA/Saguaro for a long time...I'm getting used to a bigger, burlier bike/tire and slowly testing the limits of cornering...seems like these will do the trick. Super stable and tough tire, rolls well at about 18 psi.
