MaxxisMinion DHF - 27.5
Item # MXX003M
Minion DHF
This 2.3-inch wide Minion may have "DH" in its nomenclature, but it's more than happy to serve you as an all-mountain or enduro tire. The DHF pattern incorporates ramped knobs to promote low-rolling resistance with channel-cut side knobs in order to increase cornering grip. Complementing this is Maxxis' 3C Maxx Terra, a triple compound design that focuses on versatility over maximum grip and lowest rolling-resistance. This provides the balance that all-mountain riders need to tackle everything from high alpine to loamy forest floors. Adding to this tire's versatility, while also reinforcing its lighter casing, is Maxxis' EXO sidewall protection. This helps resist abrasion and pinched sidewalls out on the trail.
- Ramped knobs to reduce rolling resistance
- Channel-cut knobs for cornering grip
- Maxxis’ 3C Maxx Terra
- EXO sidewall protection

Grippy and Durable

These tires feel great cornering and in any dirt condition- tacky, sandy, and rocky. The tires give me added confidence to make it over techy obstacles.

Great Tire

I love this tire. I've heard from several people I couldn't go wrong with it. From wet rocks & roots to dry terrain too, this tire has been great. Only wish they made the Skinwall in a 2.5 and double down casing.

Awesome tire
Bought this to replace what came on my Fuji when I bought it. Nice grip in the turns and rolls nice. Not disappointed at all

Hands down my favorite tire
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The Maxxis Minions have the grippiest rubber and best traction. I feel confident carrying speed into turns. The tire is also quite durable. The tire comes tubeless ready and it was easy to set up on my own with a compressor. Would highly recommend.

Go-To Tire
- Familiarity:

I've been riding this on the front for a couple years now and it's been unreal. Besides the fact that the grip is phenomenal, the durability is just as impressive.

Great tire
Iâm not anywhere near elite, but these tires work for me. I canât speak to rolling resistance, rubber compounds, tread pattern and depth, but these are solid. They hold up to scrapes and abrasions well, and keep me riding. I have no complaints, and donât really see a need to change to something else down the road.

Great grip
- Familiarity:

Not the fastest rolling tire out there, but these are a tried and true tread design with fantastic grip in most conditions you'll encounter mountain biking in the rockies or the desert - they particularly shine when things get loose and sketchy. I can't speak to their performance in wet conditions as we don't ride in those out in Utah! The skinwall variant is unusual to find in a performance MTB tire and is a fun way to give your bike a little extra bling.

Monsters!

These things are beasts. If you want traction, then look no further. You might as away be riding on asphalt with a full slick with the amount of grip these things produce.

Adequate
- Familiarity:

Grips and rips. Has forever been one of the better tires out there for traction, with stellar corning stability as the reviews note below. Definitely recommend replacing what's on your front wheel with the minion, and moving your front tire to the rear, no reason to replace two tires at once. Giving this tire just 3-stars this go around as there's excessive sidewall Stans seepage and the tread's worn down a bit quicker than expected, overall still good grip and reliable performance.

Definite upgrade
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
You can definitely feel the difference going from a worn-out Maxxis High Roller to the Minion DHF on the front tire... it corners really well, even on loose dirt/dust. Haven't tried it in wet conditions yet, but already really happy with the upgrade!

On the front
I put this on my front replacing a high roller. I've noticed that I can corner this tire with more control than my high roller. Doesn't roll as long/fast as you would suspect, but the control and traction are much better in different types of conditions.

Super grippy front tire

Really great grip on mixed conditions. Fits my 27.5" wheels nicely. Rolling resistance isn't nearly as bad as you might expect.

Winner!
- Familiarity:

This tire offers good traction at a reasonable weight, and is long lasting - I will typically wear through 2 of these tires riding 4-5 days a week April-October. Setting it up tubeless was a 'snap' with compatible rims. This tire offers unmatched confidence in all corners, and won't break traction unless you reeaaally push it. It doesn't offer the best rolling efficiency, but compromises needed to be made, and I like a front tire that won't slip unpredictably. This tire performs on hard pack, desert terrain, and loamy trails equally well. It also withstands the abuses of enduro riding, sharp objects, and big hits.

Along with the masses here, you just cannot beat the Minion. I have gone through a few of these and they are great. I REALLY like the 2.5 inch front as well.

Can we call this a classic yet? For as long as I can remember, the DHF has provided the best blend of traction, durability, and speed. Whether you ride DH, all mountain, trail, or even some aggressive XC, the DHF is going to give you what you need. The Best
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is hands down the best tire I have ever used. I was pretty happy with my WTB Vigilante (front) and Continental Mountain King (rear) set up, until I put this guy on. It rolls better than those tires and I have more grip than I know what to do with. Tubeless set up was a breeze. I have no complaints. I have it paired with the DHRII on the rear.
