Aggressor EXO/TR Tire
Get ready to shred singletrack and bomb gnarly descents with the Maxxis Aggressor EXO/TR Tire - 29in. We can't promise it'll make you a better rider, but its rugged, versatile construction grips hard so you can focus on the line instead of scrubbing so much speed.
The tubeless-ready Aggressor features a durable 60 TPI casing along with Maxxis' EXO sidewall protection to ward off flats. The knobby tread design features hard edges and reinforced side knobs to grip through loose, unpredictable stretches of trail and keep you from washing out on tight corners. Take the Aggressors on smooth hardpack and they'll do just fine, but you'll really see them shine on the loosest, least consistent sections of trail.
- A rugged 29er tire for that shines in loose conditions
- Dual compound with rugged tread pattern
- EXO sidewall protection increases durability

Great tire - consistent sidewall blowout
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
- Height
- 6` 3"
- Weight
- 180 lbs
I love everything about this tire except how easily it has been to blow a side wall. Not sure what it is or why its happening consistently as I havent experienced that on previous Maxxis. Riding 3-4 days per week in Park City versus hard desert riding.

Consistent feel and great wear.
These tires have become my go-to. They roll better than the DHR, have a more consistent feel and wear really well. This is my 3rd one. I am running a DHF up front. Just hooked my wife up with the same setup and she is loving it. For now this is the best all-around set up for me from Moab to the Wasatch.

So Good
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
As others have mentioned, this tire is fantastic and my go-to tire as well. Good grip without feeling overly sluggish, and is really predictable when cornering traction may be scarce. Personally I prefer to run the 2.3 over the 2.5 since I think it rolls a bit better, the 2.5in is only 80g heavier than the 2.3 though.

These tires are not too heavy for trail riding, have great traction, and make the perfect rear tire.

Maxxis Aggressors
I love these tires. Running the 2.3's front and rear. They are great on the roots and small rocks of Southern Wisconsin. The Aggressors do hold a little bit of mud, but shed enough that I always have traction. Just got back from a few days at Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama. I think I spun the back tire once on a wet root. Zero issues up front.

Great tire
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
My bike came with a DHR2 on the back... I like that tire but it doesn't roll as well as the Aggressor and the Aggressor has better side knobs. If you are riding in muddy or sandy loose soil, the DHR2 would be the better tire but for my local trails in Utah I prefer the Aggressor and will swap it out when going to Moab or the PNW.

Great all around tire
This tire has a great combination of grip, rolling resistance, braking traction and predictability. Might not be the top tire in any of those categories, but I haven't been able to find anything that has such a great blend of all four. Works really well with a DHF or a High Roller II up front

Good enough for Geoff Kabush...
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Just got back from the 2018 Downieville Classic. For what it's worth, Kabush took the All Mountain win on his new Yeti running an IKON 2.35 EXO in the rear and an Aggressor 2.3 EXO in front. I've been running DHR II up front w/ IKON rear, but I think I'm going to do the same and swap out the DHR II for the Aggressor.

Close To Top Rear Tire
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
MAXXIS AGGRESSOR EXO/TR TIRE is one of the better overall rear tires I've ever tried out. Is it more enduro than trail, sure. But, there is just enough lack of rolling resistance to make it at least good for both. The EXO sidewall and casing did more than pretty well to keep from flatting and the tubeless ready system is impressively tight though maybe too much so as undoing the bead after sealed well was a bit tough.

Grippy rear tire
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Swapped out my REAR 2.25 Ardent for the 29 x 2.3 Aggressor after 700 miles on my Ripley LS (v2). Initially I was cringing at the added 100g of weight (according to my scale) but after 100 miles the added weight hasn't been noticeable on the trail whereas the new grip and cornering ability was instantly noticeable. Now I need to swap to something more aggressive up front...

Great front tire for tech XC
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I couldn't find any reviews where the reviewer used this tire heavily as a FRONT tire. Turns out, if you ride XC and you need a multi-conditions tire in and around North GA then this should be on your short list. I didn't do the most scientific of comparisons, but with this tire on the front of my XC hardtail I was able to set PRs on every descent I tried. Also, due to increased cornering confidence (and speed) I was able to set some PRs on a lot of trail loops. This is a tire with consistent and forgiving grip on the front of my short and steep geometry hardtail. This tire handled sandy and washed out turns and never broke traction before my rear tire. The confidence made it much easier for me to have fun on descents that previously I only tried to survive. I highly recommend it.

Confidence for Spring in NW Conn.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
After pouring over reviews for weeks..... Just outfitted wife's 2017 Trek Superfly 6 18.5" frame & my 2013 Trek X-Caliber 19" frame with the 29x2.3 Maxxis Aggressor tires.....Front & Back! As well as son's Trek X-Cal 9 in the 27.5 model front & back.(review made for that tire size with same attributes below) We all love these tires for many reasons. I got back into MTB a few yrs ago after "leaving the sport" in the mid 1990's. Last saw a Dart upfront/smoke in the rear. Liked the confidence the front gave me, back in the day. However, I didn't want to go to big/heavy and was afraid if a 2.4 would fit / sling mud on the bikes. So I looked at reviews and went with the Aggressors which fit and slung mud wonderfully!!!(There is enough room on these frames to happily allow these tires to move freely while "gummed-up".........which all tires will do at some-point when at very slow speeds) Once up to speed, they shed it fine. I haven't ridden tires "Made-for-Mud", but these instill confidence in the muck and slippery white pine needles we get in the Hills of Connecticut during the wet Spring. It was a great climbing tire in all conditions as well as hammering downhill through the corners! While I didn't drag a knee on a hard turn going into a professionally built berm...I certainly felt confident yet again as the tire transitioned on to the side nobs which have more than enough grip on an XC bike. They also handled well on sand, leaves & singletrack dirt during a few rides I snuck in on "dry days". The picture depicts some "micro-tread" on the carcass of the tire which was more evident once on the bike.........another perk!......giving me more traction even where I've never had it in the past. Wife was also pleased that they weren't too "soft or slow to roll" on the pavement". Of course they weren't anything like the Stock fast-rolling Bontrager XR1. But then again, that tire was garbage on the trails where we ride. :-( no surprise. All in all, very happy with the Tubeless setup we are running using Stan's tape/sealant on Stock Bontrager Mustang wheels.

Amazing Rear Tire
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Much Much faster than the DHR II and far more braking traction when things get loose mid season than the Minion SS, the Aggressor is the sweet spot. Reach for the Double Down Casing if you ride nasty sharp rocks all day (Moab, South Mountain in Phoenix) but if you don't blow through tires due to sidewall tears, then these non Double Down casings are for you. Not too heavy for trail riding. The perfect rear tire for your 120mm + Trail bikes. Not ideal for a front though, if you wanted something faster and lighter I would look to the Ardent.
