Double down on durability.

While its EXO sibling may be a little bit lighter, the Maxxis Aggressor Double Down/TR 27.5in Tire is in it for the rough and gnarly with a reinforced casing that'll increase your chances of getting through the day flat-free. Maxxis' Double Down dual-ply casing construction provides slightly heavier, downhill-inspired protection than EXO and boasts a TPI of 120 compared to the EXO's 60. While this does add a bit of weight, clocking in just a hair over 1000 grams, Double Down makes up for the extra grams with increased durability to weather the miles.

The knobby tread design boasts hard edges and reinforced side knobs to grip through loose, unpredictable stretches of trail and keep you from washing out on tight corners. Take the Aggressors on smooth hardpack and they'll do just fine, but you'll really see them shine on the loosest, least consistent sections of trail.

  • A burly 27.5-inch tire that revels in loose conditions
  • Dual compound with rugged tread pattern
  • Double Down casing construction increases durability

Let it Roll

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my favorite rear tire option, fast rolling yet plenty of traction. I would recommend this tire to anyone looking for a reliable and durable tire.

A proper ripper

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this tire out back, with a Minion DHF in front. It's fast rolling, hooks up superbly, and transitions into a drift with very predicable manners. I've also found it to be slow wearing. Maybe unique to the DD variant, but this is the only tire setup where I feel the back and front tires are wearing at the same rate.
