Gentleman's Blend Warming Embrocation

Bike racing is not a genteel pastime. Ergo, it is not for gentlemen. It's a brutal sport and extremes are common. That said, some who engage this hobby need tender care in order to survive and thrive. This is where the Mad Alchemy Gentleman's Blend Warming Embrocation comes to the rescue.

Gentleman's Blend provides the mildest heat of the warming potions Mad Alchemy has brewed. In other words, it has the lowest proportion of capsicum annuum of any of their hot sauces. But it does more than gently heat the skin and muscles on cool mornings, as Mad Alchemy would never settle for something so basic. The alchemists work with rapeseed oil, grapeseed oil, shea butter, beeswax, and essential oils to make a full-bodied lotion that tickles the olfactory senses and focuses the mind.

When you unscrew the cap, you have scents of Texas White Cedar and Spanish Rosemary enter the nostrils, evoking a rustic and woodsy atmosphere. Rosemary Oil is a time-tested homeopathic remedy that has been known to combat mental fatigue and sluggishness. You smell it in the tub, you sense it on your legs, it helps you go better for longer.

The Mad Alchemy Gentleman's Blend Warming Embrocation comes in a 4 oz (120ml) tub.

  • Shea butter, beeswax, essential oils, grapeseed oil

Just Right

I've put it through the wringer

If you live at any altitude above 3,500 ft. and want something to warm (not heat or burn) your calves and thighs during a cold or very cool, spring or fall ride, this is the ticket. I take a wet cloth, rub my legs to get the skin moist, then I put some Mad Alchemy Embro in my hands and rub it into my leg muscles (top of ankle to just above knee). It'll kick in about the time it takes you to get warmed up on the bike, 15 mins or so, then it provides a warming sensation for about 45mins to 1.5 hrs. It does pick up dust, dirt, etc. but not too badly, just wash it off after riding, comes off easy with soap & water. Many other Embro creams, gels, etc. are way too hot, like rubbing "Heat" or cayenne/capsacian cream on your legs, they can burn for a a good 1-2 days. Not this one, it's just right

I want to eat my legs

Smells like rosemary. Tasty. This is a mild blend- I have used the medium embro from Mad Alchemy with delight, so I figured I would try something for a warmer temperature. This is great for those days when there may be a slight chill in the air, but on the way to warming up. Highly suggested. *It smells great, and you may want to eat your legs- but please do not ingest the embro.

Gentle mans blend

I just received my gentleman's blend. All I can say is that even in drug stores I do have a hard time finding a product that that warms me nicely. This is just another one of those for me. I guess I should have gone with a stronger product.

A mild embrocation

I've used it several times

This was the first embrocation I ever used. It took several rides for me to figure out the right amount to use - at first, I didn't use enough to feel any warming effect. But once I got it right, I liked it. There is no burning sensation and it has a pleasant aroma.

New to embro

I've used it several times

I've slathered various moisturizers, oils, and sunscreens on my legs before but never a real embrocation, particularly one with warming properties. I'm hooked. Love the look and feel. Only downside so far is how the embro holds road dirt, insects, etc. Perhaps not applying the product to my shins would solve this issue. Any thoughts?

The Right Amount of Heat

I've put it through the wringer

Coming from FL originally I wasn't too familiar with the whole Embrocation thing. When I started to ride in the Utah spring weather I quickly found out that all warming balms are not created equal. After trying out something that felt like it was melting off my skin in order to warm the muscles beneath I discovered the Mad Alchemy products. The first time I used Gentlemen's Blend I knew that my search for the right Embrocation was over. It smells great, warms well, & doesn't feel like acid scalding my skin? what a great combo!

Warm up with the rainbow

I've used it several times

No one likes Embro that feels like you've just put bacon grease on and asked the sun to fry your skin to a nice Gucci purse patina. Alchemy got it right with the gentleman's blend. Sure, I'm a gentlelady, but who doesn't enjoy the scent of Texas white cedar and Rosemary oil?
