The new classic.
The long-sleeve thermal jersey is a classic staple that occupies the pole position of any fall or spring cycling wardrobe. The Men's Thermal Pro Jersey is Louis Garneau's take on this standard, and—true to form—the French brand updates the classic model with contemporary fabrics and a cycling-specific fit. The result is a relatively lightweight jersey that stretches, insulates, and breathes far better than its wool forbearers.
The jersey consists of two materials strategically arranged in a cut designed to allow light layering but still maintain an accommodating fit in the saddle. The first material is Polartec's Thermal Pro, a fleece that pushes the properties of wool to their logical extreme. Like wool, Thermal Pro creates countless micro pockets of insulating air in order to trap heat like materials with bulkier loft. Thermal Pro is much lower density, though, creating additional pockets for more insulation, a lower weight, and increased breathability. It also stretches and returns better than wool, letting LG trim the jersey's silhouette for a fit that occupies the space between painted-on summer kit and bulky, tent-shaped winter jackets.
The Thermal Pro is supplemented by panels of HeatMaxx, a thermal material that places an emphasis on stretch to maintain a restriction-free ride. A slightly extended collar and shaped cuffs help ensure coverage in the saddle, and forward articulation in the sleeves makes resting on the hoods more comfortable. The jersey is finished with three rear pockets and reflective details throughout.
