Optimum 2 Short

Every year when spring's chill gives way to hot summer days, we're encouraged to replace our knickers for the Louis Garneau's Optimum 2 Short. Its highly flexible material wicks moisture and dries quickly, and there are mesh panels to provide ventilation. The four-way stretch, graduated chamois that provides support where it's desirable and relief where support would be a bad thing. The waist ensures that everything stays in place with the HugFit band construction. LG's typical Powerband surfaces at the hems to provide grip, and an internal waist pocket keeps your house key from mingling with spare arm warmers, wind vests, and knit gloves in your jersey pockets.

Chamois too thin, ride up

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I found the padding to be way too thin. Also, the shorts rode up on my thighs, which didn't happen with another pair of the same brand. Otherwise the fit was good and the waste high, which I like, and it doesn't roll.

Chamois not supportive

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Think of Louis Garneau as a quality brand but not for this product. After just a few times wearing these shorts, the chamois does nothing in terms of support. Not expensive so I should have known...you get what you pay for. Spend the money and invest in a longer lasting option to ensure you're not wishing you had during your rides...

nice short at good price

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought the short because of the brand and the price. The fabric is quite light and the chamois is a little thin. For my Peloton and short rides, or under mountain biking shorts, its great. I wouldnt recommend for long rides
