Louis Garneau

Louis Garneau started making cycling apparel with his wife in his father's garage in 1983. Within five years, the company had expanded to 118 employees. It seems that the word was out on this athlete-owned and run cycling apparel company. Additionally, Garneau has been heavily involved with charitable causes ranging from MS and cancer to the Friends of the Elderly Organization, which helps to relieve loneliness and isolation among the elderly.

Even without his namesake clothing brand, Louis Garneau's racing career alone would lend him serious credibility within cycling circles. As a member of the 1984 Canadian Olympic cycling team, and a professional racer who claims more than 150 career victories, there's no doubt that the man knows cycling more intimately than most. <p>The Leg Warmers are made of Garneau's HeatMaxx fabric, a polyester/elastane blend with a brushed fleece back to retain body heat. A silicone gripper at the thigh keeps each leg warmer from sliding down and bunching at the knee. Flatlock seams ensure minimal friction against your skin, and a reflective logo on the calf and piping on the ankle zipper add extra visibility. The Leg Warmers also have a UPF/SPF rating of 50.</p>
