1001 Singlet Base Layer
As mountain dwellers, we feel obligated to impart some hard-fought winter wisdom upon you: layering is the key to activity in frigid weather. You can always take a layer off, but a bulky jacket will have to stay on until you stop riding. One layer that needn't ever be removed is the Louis Garneau 1001 Sleeveless Singlet Top. With a design meant to keep you warm and dry, the Singlet Top is a pro-level baselayer that adds that little extra 'oomph' to get you through those cold morning rides.
The Louis Garneau 1001 Sleeveless Singlet Top is made from Garneau's Drytex 1001 fabric. Drytex 1001 is Garneau's professional-grade baselayer material. When worn directly on the skin, Drytex's perforated design creates a layer of air that efficiently retains body heat and keeps you warm and dry. The Singlet Top has also been treated for enhanced moisture transfer and comfort that's free from abrasion. For extra comfort, Garneau used flatlock seams throughout the Singlet Top.
- Sleeveless singlet built for lasting comfort on the road
- Drytex fabric wicks sweat, traps body heat, and stretches with you
- Flatlock seam construction prevents chafing from ruining the ride

My shoulders are a bit broader than some and it's nice that this doesn't constrict or pinch by my armpits. Others have. It's a bit shorter than I'd like and I find myself tucking it into my shorts/bibs from time to time and in addition to that, my personal preference would be that it would have a slightly lowered neck in the front. It tends to stick out of my jersey and touch my lower neck, which I just personally don't like the feeling of. It's done well in the wash, but I always air dry it. The LG logo on the front top by the neck is still in good shape even after about 15-20 washes. I've head the stitching pull/tear slightly a couple of times when I wasn't so careful taking it off, but I haven't seen any negative effects from it. I believe it's pretty solidly built while still being light a breathable.

For what I paid, I'm pretty stoked on this baselayer. It's form fitted, but don't constrict around my broad shouldered upper. The seams are minimal, and don't cause any amount of discomfort or itching. It seems to ventilate well, and washes without a problem. Tough to beat at $40!
