Lizard SkinsMoab Lock-On Grip
Item # LZS0034
Grab Moab by the arch.
Inspired by the Delicate Arch, a famous rock formation near Moab, Utah,
the Lizard Skins Moab Grip is a usable tribute to one of the great
meccas and birth-places of modern mountain biking. Since mountain
biking's beginning, the trails of Moab have allowed us to push our
bikes, bodies, and equipment to the absolute limits. With the Moab Grip,
Lizard Skins is giving back. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale
of each pair of Moab Grips will be donated to the Moab Trails Alliance
to continue to build and maintain this incredible trail system.
The Moab Grip features a raised texture that provides traction and shock
absorption. You'll need quite a bit of both if you find yourself
careening down Amasa Back or negotiating technical cliffside moves on
the Portal Trail. With a 31mm diameter and 130mm width, there's plenty of area for meaty paws to wrap around. Since the Moab Lock-On Grip clamps into place, you won't have to worry about it rotating around your bar to send you careening over your front wheel.
The Lizard Skins Moab Lock-On Grip comes in one size and is available in Black with Blue or Black clamps.

Great grip, a little thin
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
First--these grips should come with 4 clamps (2 per grip), although the product descriptions omits this. Mine arrived without any clamps, Backcountry read the description and wouldn't send me any since they're not mentioned. I contacted Lizard Skins directly and they sent me the clamps quickly and free of charge. The product information has since been updated. Easy to install, used my old end caps. They secure tightly. Good tacky grip, with and without gloves, but they are not thick, cushioned rubber. They're still comfortable on 2+ hour rides.

I ordered this. Should it come with the screws to attach it? Mine did not.

Feel good, look good.
I rode the second half of the last season with these grips. I like them, easy install, they look good, and they're grippy and comfortable for me. They are also not super thick and they seem durable and well made. They aren't very soft or anything so if you're looking for a more plush, soft grip, these aren't the ones for you.

Great Grips

It is nice to have new grips and these are so easy to install and good on tackiness. I replaced these with the same grips after three years, I won't be using other grips.

Great grip until starts to twist
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
They worked great for like 300-400 miles until I started noticing the rubber start to slack maybe 0.5-1deg twist relative to the housing. Basically the plastic tabs that locate the rubber grip to the metal clamps start to deform. So you get a little play and the grips start to twist slightly even though the metal ends are firmly secured to the bars. Just an annoyance, but not 5 star worthy.

Great but colors don't match.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Reliable as ever with the Lizard Skins and cush grip, but the photo colors definitely are not true. I was looking for a more green tint but these neon grips are most deffffffinitely safety suit yellow. Bummer. Better luck next time!

Grippy

Old grips snapped in half after a few falls this past year on my Pivot. I upgraded to these and am not looking back. They look great on the bike and function perfectly.

Big Improvement
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Big fan of this grip for two reasons: 1. Level of comfort is way better than the stock Santa Cruz factory grips 2. They include plugs for the bar ends so that you don't accidentally impale yourself. 5 stars for not getting impaled

Very Grippy
These grips are easy to install and lock on tight. They are also really grippy, even in the rain and over high-speed bumps. They aren't as cushy as I would have liked, but my hands will adjust. I have smaller hands and can still wrap my whole hand around them. Great colors and a durable rubber.

Grippy Grips
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These grips are relatively soft, and incredibly grippy. They stick like glue, and they're thicker than normal grips which I find more comfortable.

Grippy-mane
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These grips are the best to go out for a rip! I have gone through 2 pairs over 2 seasons and will probably put them on my next bike. The compound is perfect and sticks right to my gloves. I also enjoy the thicker circumference for less arm pump on longer rides.
