DSP Race 1.8mm Bar Tape

Boasting a claimed weight of 50 grams per set, Lizard Skins’ DSP Race 1.8 mm Bar Tape earns the right to claim itself as the lightest tape on the market. In this case, lightness doesn't mean an absence of cush. DSP Race is soft and springy, and its rubberized texture offers superb grip in all weather conditions. Each roll is 82 inches long, which gives you plenty of length to wrap any bar. The package includes 2 rolls of tape, 2 bar-end plugs, and 2 finishing strips.

  • A synthetic bar tape with a race-minded physique
  • Lightest in Lizard Skins' line still provides cush
  • Soft, springy texture keeps grip secure in all weather
  • Lofty length provides everything you need to wrap your bar
  • Maintains consistent dexterity across all conditions

Very comfy tape

I've put it through the wringer
True to size

I really like the feel of this tape. It’s supple, has a nice grippy feel and I like that it comes in all sorts of colors. It’s durable and pretty easy to keep clean as well. The company stresses not stretching the tape so the first time used it I wrapped the bars way to lose and the result was terrible so wrap the bars tight but not super tight?? You’ll know you’re wrapping to lose if the tape feels like it’s not gripping the bars and starts to come undone under the hoods. Once I figured out the right amount of tension to wrap the bars the results have been great.

John, I use the same tape and I feel the 'stretching warning' more applies to the thicker tape, 2.5 and 3.2, but with the thinner 1.8 V2 I wrap pretty tight w/o issues. I will note, I practiced for about 30 mins using the old Lizard Skin tape I was replacing to get the tension just right and viola, perfection. I like the Lizard Skin tape above the others because I choose to ride w/o gloves (I have done so since I was a kid, sponsors hated me) and this tape feels great even when sweaty. Cheers!
