Tech Drive HP Pump

Pumps are important. Getting stranded isn't fun, and hitch-hiking 20 miles home is a little scary -- believe us. Carrying the Lezyne Tech Drive HP Pump and a tube is the easy solution to a complicated problem. Utilizing CNC-machined aluminum, and Lezyne's High Pressure technology, the Tech Drive HP is a lightweight must-have for anyone who doesn't like walking home in carbon-soled shoes.

The Lezyne Tech Drive HP Pump features Composite Matrix end caps, and a CNC-machined aluminum handle, barrel, and shaft. Using rigid, precise materials allows the Tech Drive HP to inflate tires to riding pressure with 30% fewer strokes than conventional hand pumps. The oversized piston and handle are integrated into the body of the pump, and form a sleek, unassuming design.

The Tech Drive HP Pump comes outfitted with the Lezyne ABS Flex Hose. This feature is a huge ergonomic advantage for roadside inflation. With the ABS Flex Hose, you don't have to strain away at awkward valve angles. Simply fit the Slip-Fit System valve head to the stem, and pump away at an angle of your choosing. The Flex Hose is also equipped with the Air Bleed System for even greater accuracy in pressure regulation. For a low-profile, the Tech Drive HP utilizes a compact design that stows the hose inside the pump handle when you're not using it.

The Lezyne Tech Drive HP Pump is available in sizes Small (170mm, 87g) and Medium (216mm, 100g) and includes a Composite Matrix mounting bracket. The Tech Drive HP has a maximum of 120psi, and is compatible with Presta and Schrader Valve fittings, via its reversible hose. The Tech Drive HP is available in the color Black.

Don't Get Stranded With This Pump

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this pump because it looked like a good combo of low price and good ratings. Well, it broke the first time I had to use it. The plastic threading that seals the gasket around the pump shaft sheared off, and the gasket wouldn't re-seat properly. I kept trying to gently reassemble the pump but it wouldn't get air into my tire. I was in a rural area with no cell signal, but I was lucky a kind stranger passed with an air compressor and a presta valve adapter in his truck.

Exactly what I was looking for

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have always carried a mini pump as backup to co2. I've carried in my rear jersey pocket a small mini pump with a thumb chuck. Worked ok, but with the thumb chuck you have to keep pressure on the wheel while trying to pump. Can be difficult. Also, I learned the hard way that carrying the pump in a jersey pocket can be a painful experience during a crash. I landed on it once and thought I broke my hip...very painful. So after my most recent puncture in the cold I had a c02 failure and I had difficulty with the mini pump I had been using so I decided to search for a replacement. I wanted something small with an attachable hose. After some research, I purchased the Tech Drive, 170 mm pump. I'm a purest, but decided to use the supplied frame mount. It mounts tightly against the rear bottle cage. It's barely visible and tucked in out of the way and out of my jersey pocket. Perfect! It also is very easy to use and superior to a thumb chuck mini.
