Pragmatic design at its best.

When it comes to cycling pumps, you may have noticed an endless supply of newer, more technical models each year. While we're all for progress, eventually, all of the updates and new features reach the point of diminishing returns. Lezyne keeps things simple, as it always has, with the Sport Drive ABS-2 Floor Pump, focusing on pumping up tires rather than inflating price tags with an unnecessary assortment of latest-and-greatest technology.

Made with a timeless combination of wood and steel and mounted to a composite base, the Sport Drive accommodates both Presta and Schrader valves and comes complete with Lezyne's proven Air Bleed System 2 (ABS-2). ABS-2 includes a wee little button that allows you to precisely dial in the ideal pressure when inflating your tires. While you're doing so, a 3.5in display gauge prevents you from having to guess or squint to read tire pressure.

Longevity is a hallmark of Lezyne pumps, and if you buy this pump to use with your first aluminum frame with stock wheels, it will loyally grow with you as you invest in your first set of deep dish carbon hoops or disc-equipped wheels with its Speed Chuck couplers, which are built with a 90-degree angle to allow them to accommodate a full range of wheel designs.

So far so good!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had this pump for about a month now and so far it has worked great! It's efficient at pumping up tires and the large PSI gauge allows you to know exactly how much air you're putting in. The twist valve is a little weird at first but is easy to get used to and works well. I'd definitely recommend this pump to anyone!

bike pumps have to do exactly 1 thing: force air into a tire. this pump didn't do that. while i'm truly grateful that this pump has a Schrader thingamabob, for all those times oh wait, I haven't owned anything with a Schrader valve since the early 1990's. After a handful of uses, the chuck came apart. I managed to coax one last fillup out of it, and then it would simply no longer seal on my boringly mainstream presta valvestems. I think it achieved a good clean seal maybe 3 times in its short, tragic life. The rest of the times I just pumped really fast and tried to get the chuck off before it deflated. Of course, it's quite possible I didn't follow the instructional video correctly, or perhaps I'm biased from only owning 2 other pumps in the last 40 years, the last one of which only died because of flooding. Because, ya know, it's just a bike pump, one of the simpler of mankind's many innovations. Not only will I not be buying any more Lyzene products, I won't even buy products that are adjacent to them. Or speak to people who own them. Or their grandkids.

Experienced similar, although mine lasted a few more months. The ABS-2 is easy to remove- as advertised- they just forgot that getting the chuck on the tire is actually more important. I'd lose most of the tire pressure before it would screw on tight enough to begin so each time was inflation from near flat.
If you review Lezne's site the new pumps all have an "ABS1 Pro" head. The ABS-2 has disappeared, small wonder.

It Pumps Air

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It is a pump! Easy to use, great design, good volume, works well at the house and on the go.

Lasted me three months

The chuck just "exploded" on me when I was pumping air and the inside parts went flying. Having no luck reassembling it. I have a better Lezyne pump that has two years and still going. I recommend spending a little more and buying a better one.

    Go To Pump

Without a compressor this pump is my go-to. Solid feel and sleek design.

    Nice basic pump.

Bought this a my first dedicated bicycle track pump. Comfortable handle, easy to read gauge, nice hose storage. Good nozzle and pressure relief. Used before every ride for about a year. I have since upgraded to a Silca. I use it as my travel track pump, and keep it in the trunk of the car so I always have a pump around. Can't beat it for the price.

I got this floor pump in Dedember and was a happy customer until a week ago the clear plastic cover for the gage popped off as I was pumping up a tire. Now it is completely useless. I have never had a pump fail so quickly before. Very disappointing!!

    Pump it up!

The pumps connector is very easy to use on a presta style tire. The gauge is very easy to read and seems accurate. If I pump really hard and quickly it doesn't really like it and pushes back. Other than that it is very good and fills my tires fast.
