Truth rings.

Lezyne has a knack for clean aesthetics, so we should hardly be surprised by the elegant touch its designers gave on the Classic Shallow Brass Bell. It works just like its more cylindrical sibling, but with a modern, low-profiled design. The Classic Shallow Brass Bell mounts easily by securing its machined metal base to your bar with a flexible O-ring that can accommodate aero and round bars alike, and features a slim pad on the bottom to protect the metal base from scratching your bars. The bell is easy to use by giving the brass striker a flick, sounding a loud ring to alert others of your presence.

Liftie Approved

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I'm giving this five stars because yesterday a liftie at the Deer Valley bike lift got curious about mine, gave it a ring, and then yelled "GREAT BELL, FIVE STARS!! SOUNDS COOL!" So obviously I had to let the people know. (I'm assuming that guy rings every bell he sees and is probably an expert in the field?) Anyways, aside from liftie approval, this has been a great mountain biking bell. I would say that it does take a little work to get a really loud noise out of this bell - you can, but you have to hit it hard enough. It also seems to have a little bit of a learning curve & a little break in time. Definitely give it 4-5 practice rings before deciding if it's loud enough. If you're in a busy city and you're constantly trying to get airhorn level noise out of your bell, this one may not be your jam. If you're on a bike path or out mountain biking, and want to politely warn nearby people without blasting a warning to everyone in a 10 mile radius, this is perfect. You can tap it loudly or quietly depending on the situation, and the sound is super recognizable as a bell without being a super annoying BRRRNG sound. Also works great if you have a trail dog - we taught ours to come running when we ring the bell, and it's a nice enough sound that I don't mind pinging it a couple times to call him back.
