The Genesis comes in two sizes, which Lazer refers to as Medium and Large, and this wouldn't be possible without the patented Rollsys retention system. Unlike other designs that press a retention system onto the back of your head, the Lazer Rollsys uses a smooth thumb wheel at the top of the helmet that connects to a progressive sizing system.

Rollsys loosens/tightens the retention system around the entire circumference of your head. Design-wise, the Rollsys is remarkably clean, and it adds no appreciable weight to the helmet. Those who've worn them are astonished by the same thing — the comfort of having retention pressure increased/decreased evenly throughout the entirety of the helmet. The Genesis has 19 generous vents for ample ventilation, and a more minimal silhouette than other helmets, as it's not as tall and not as wide.

The Genesis also uses X-Static pads to keep you comfortable, and to prevent things from getting too stinky, they're antimicrobial. The Lazer Genesis Helmet is available in the sizes Medium and Large — the former is for head circumferences ranging from 52cm - 58cm, and the latter is for 58cm - 61cm heads. It is available in seven colors and comes with a helmet bag and spare set of X-Static pads.

Nice looks, but not the best value.

I've put it through the wringer

ive had the genesis for well over a year now and am underwhelmed. I bought it for its unusual looks but it is lacking in some function. It is a nice enough helmet but i believe there are better options, especially at the price. 1. sunglasses don't fit in the vents - i thought i could live with this but it is getting old fast. 2. The helmet fits OK, but the weird placed retention system makes it hard to wear over a cycling cap. it bunches up in the back and slides around your head. 3. it is not particularly light. I don't usually complain about this stuff, but the weird fit makes the weight noticeable. 4. The rolly adjustment barrel is difficult to use with gloves. 5. I have better ventilation on the bell and giro helmets i have used. If i had to do it again, i would take a pass on the genesis or look at another model in the Lazer family. I dont think any helmet is perfect but i usually forget about them once i am riding. I find myself fidgeting with the genesis alot mid ride and have found myself going back to an old bell when the days get hot. Of course your mileage may vary but if youre a practical sort, look elsewhere.

Sweet CX Helmet

I've put it through the wringer

This helmet has three excellent features that are pretty much exclusive to Lazer: First, there is a winter liner available for it that puts earflaps over the straps, and adds thicker padding inside the helmet. Second, there is a clear plastic overshell available that makes the helmet water and wind proof. Third, the Roll-Sys roller on the Genesis has a little button on it that accomodates a custom blinking red light, ensuring that you always have, at least, a rear light on those nights you end up out a little longer than planned. Aside from those special features, I love the Roll-Sys fitting system, which is easily the best fitting system of any helmet I have tried (this is my fourth Lazer, and I have worn Giro, Rudy Project, 661, and others). Finally, the helmet fits nicely close, leaving just enough room inside for the aforementioned winter liner.

Excellent helmet, with a few minor detai

I've put it through the wringer

This helmet overall is awesome. It is very light, vents incredibly well and the fit adjustment system is far superior to most other helmets i have ridden. There are however two small details that drive me nuts. 1. the padding that come in the helmet is way to thin in the front to the point that the velcro actually digs into your forehead. Not a huge deal to fix it, but for a high $ helmet, one i expect not to have to do. Also should be noted that this is only an issue if you do not wear a cap underneath your helmet 2. the way the vents are set up i cannot for the life of me find a comfortable and sturdy place to store my glasses. I have tried with multiple pairs (Oakley flak jackets and Rudy Project radar) and they still wont stay. I typically wear my Rudy projects with photochromic lenses, so i usually don't have to take them off and worry about it. Overall, this is one of the best helmets i have owned and would recommend it to anyone.
