MXZ200 Cycling Shoe
You're not one to turn down a ride just because there's a little snow on the ground, but that doesn't mean your toes should have to freeze. Don the Lake MXZ200 Cycling Shoes and hit the singletrack in the freshly fallen snow, enjoying spinning your legs when the trails are empty of all other bipedal creatures, while keeping your feet toasty, thanks to durable uppers that cut through the elements, and ample space for proper winter socks.
The Lake MXZ200 are constructed with full-grain leather uppers that are vegetable tanned for a unique look that's akin to work and hiking boots. The inside features a waterproof membrane, so if the snow gets deep your feet can stay dry, and the toes are backed up with 3M Thinsulate lining to trap heat inside. The shoes are built on Lake's Winter Last, which means they have a taller and wider toe box that allows for room for layering your favorite wooly winter socks to keep you warm. They lace up tall, finishing above the ankle, to keep wet, muddy, and cold weather on the outside where it belongs.
Finishing off the shoe is Vibram's heavy duty Mountain V outsole. This outsole has aggressive hiking lugs that keep you secure when you have to walk on slick and muddy trails, with directional tread designed to help you brake in the heel when walking downhill, or propel forward in the toe if you're hiking up a steep face to chase a fast and flowy descent. The sole also features a recessed cleat patch, for mountain any two-bolt mountain cleats, so you can clip in for maximum power on the trail.

I think these boots are awesome I have cold feet in general but I wear these anywhere from 30 to 50° They are super comfortable and have a lot of room in toe box for multiple sock layers. They are a pain in the butt to set up because you do have to cut the bottom of the sole out according to what style pedal you’re using. I’ve had mine for three years and ridden thousands of miles and they still look brand new; I did use a leather pretreater on them. Sizing is small but typical of lakes these are a lot wider though

Mondo: 28.5 I wear a 10.5 snowboard boot, an 11 in most shoes including cycling (Freerider Pro, Giro Cyclone), and 11.5 in running shoes (Saucony Kinvara, Hoka Rincon). I couldn't fit my foot in a 44, a 45 barely fit, and a 46 is decent. I'd completely ignore the Men's chart, and go by the mm measurement. 46 links to a 290-293, which should give me plenty of room. The overall fit is good, but I potentially could have gone with a 47. I've worn the boots for a couple weeks commuting, and one 2-hour fat bike ride with flat pedals in weather spanning single digits to high thirties. My toes got a little cold in the single digits, but were fine in the teens up to about 40 when they got too hot. The laces are ok, but you have to completely undo them to get your foot in which isn't ideal. I swapped them out for Lace-Locs, but my foot has slid forward squishing my toes a bit with those. The sole is good, but nothing like Freeriders if that's what you're used to. It's one of those cases where you should either spend the money on Wolvhammers or 304's or just use hiking boots. I'll keep using them for the rest of the season, but probably won't keep them past this year.

Not designed for clipping in.

I had to cut out the entire oval to be able to push the clean back. After doing this, it seems one is starting to cut into the shoe. Still not easy to clip in. Also, they get wet quickly. The water soaks right through the toe box. Very disappointed in these shoes.
