MX168 Enduro Cycling Shoe

Lake has well-earned their reputation for making quality footwear for any cycling discipline, and the MX168 Enduro is no exception. Lake uses their MX Sport Last, for a roomier toe box, which makes the hiking sections more comfortable, while maintaining the stiff sole you need for pedaling efficiency. The durable upper with rubber toe and side guards protects from rocks and roots as you pedal or hike your way to the top of the trail. A dual-direction Boa dial and two hook-and-loop straps help dial in the fit, and the quick-release lace guides make for fast transitions and easy cleaning at the end of the ride. The Enduro-specific sole differs from the standard MX168 with its sturdy rubber and added traction of SuperGrip tread blocks to ensure stable footing on any terrain.

How to Measure:
Take your foot measurement In a standing position while wearing your cycling socks.
Step 1: Trace your foot onto a sheet of paper.
After you trace your foot take a ruler and make a line to mark the furthest point on all four sides.
Step 2: Length measurement.
Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the longest distance from heel to longest toe (first or second toe).
Step 3: Width measurement.
Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the widest distance of foot from side to side.
Step 4: Repeat steps for other foot as your feet may be different sizes.
Typically you will want shoes that accommodate your largest foot the most comfortably.
Add 5mm to your actual length measurement to get recommended size.

There is confusion at backcountry as to which shoe they actually sell. I ordered the "MX 168" model in size 50, and I received the "MX 168 Enduro" model. I was told my order was a one off mistake in size 50, but now BC has changed the title from "MX 168" to "MX 168 Enduro"--yet the image is still a picture of the "MX168" model. I followed Lake's sizing instructions and sized up one size to get the width right, but the shoes were way too big, so I suggest you order whatever size you currently wear as a starting point.

I ordered this shoe in a 45 which is the size I take in all footwear...cycling, moto and street. They are incredibly small. I contacted an associate at CC and we tried to figure out why they were so off. He said that Lake says their 45 is 11" long. I measured my foot and it too was 11". Then I measured the inner sole of the actual shoe. Result was 10 1;/2".
