Why We Like The Keeper 785 Integrated Chain Lock

To lock our bike and quick-release wheels, the Kryptonite 785 Integrated Chain Lock is the ideal accessory. This chain lock features a patent-pending end-link design that secures the links to the hardened deadbolt, which helps to eliminate critical vulnerability. In other words, there are no weld seams in the links that are able to be pried open. Additionally, the disc-style lock cylinder is pick and drill resistant. The chain is 33.5in long, which makes it easy to secure to a bike rack, tree, or other immovable object. It is sheathed in a weather-resistant nylon sleeve to prevent scratches on our bike.

  • A durable bike lock to fight off attacks and theft
  • Patent-pending end-link design secures the links
  • Disc-style lock cylinder is pick and drill resistant
  • A 33.5in long chain is easily secured to a rack or tree
  • Weather-resistant nylon prevents scratches on our bike

work as expected

Good for mid to low level crime area. For the price, it's a good buy. It is a deterent by like any other lock of the same, it will not be able to withstand a good volt cutter. I would not use it to leave a bike overnight.

Not quite as burly as a U-lock, but this chain lock is really, really substantial, fits two bikes inside, and conveniently wraps around your bike frame when you're out pedaling around. I use this as a back-up lock for my bike rack (the wimpy cord lock doesn't give me much peace of mind) and keep it on my fixie for around-town use.

Great Lock

I've put it through the wringer

I love this lock. I wrap it around my top tube and lock it there while riding which is sweet. Definitely not great for your frame, I only recommend this storage technique if you ride a cheap commuter and don't care about the paint job! The size is perfect to get my frame and front wheel locked up. If you live in a super theft-prone area and/or have a nice wheelset you may want to go with something else like a U-Lock/cable combo so that you can lock both your wheels more easily.

Jammed lock

I returned this product before using it

This seemed very promising. I bought it as an alternative stay at home lock because the first u-lock I tried was too short. Although this contours more easily because it is a chain, it still isnt very long and the fact that it locks into the side of the bolt assembly drops a few inches of usable length. The big downer? The first time I used it the key jammed in the lock and would not release at all. The mechanism did not feel smooth running at all and did not give me any confidence it would last beyond even short exposure to water and grit (talking about the opening for the chain, not the key hole). Unlike some of the nicer kryptonite products, the keyhole also doesnt have a cover to protect it from the elements. Even though mine was obviously defective from the start, I was not willing to give it another try after having it in hand.

A Great Lock

I've put it through the wringer

I bought this lock to use as a temporary fix, but I've stuck with it. It wraps around my frame quite easily, and it's big enough to fit two bikes. The chain is durable and the sheath only improves the durability. Definitely recommended for your bar bike or inexpensive daily driver. If your ride is more pricey, I'd go for a more beefy U lock, but for everything else, look no further.

Saved my bike

I've used it several times

Great lock! Comes with two keys. Only complaint is 85 cm is pretty short when trying to secure bike frame and wheel to another object. Photo below shows where would-be thieves tried to break lock.
