Challenger 3.0 Rollers

Seeing many indoor trainers can soar above the cost of your budget, Kreitler developed the Challenger 3.0 Rollers for the cyclist seeking an indoor training solution without blowing all their hard-earned cash. Challenger 3.0 Rollers are an affordable option for staying in shape during winter and squeezing in a quick spin after work—without braving frigid temperatures and pouring rain that plagues large swaths of the country during off-season months.

Occupying the middle ground between the 2.25 and 4.0 Rollers by Kreitler, the Challenger 3.0 Rollers offer a bit more resistance for pushing your endurance level, but without being overly tiring and difficult to use like the smallest 2.25 version. In fact, they're claimed to provide approximately 40 percent more resistance than the largest 4.0 Rollers.

They're constructed of alloy drums turned on a CNC lathe for near-perfect concentricity and smooth-rolling operation. ABEC 5 bearings provide relatively quiet operation, especially compared to cheaper offerings on the market. Kreitler saves a bit of production costs with the use of polycarbonate end caps, which is then passed onto you, so you can spend your hard-earned cash on future bike upgrades.

Please note, Kreitler recommends you don't use the Challenger 3.0 or 2.25 Rollers with the Killer Headwind Fan or Flywheel, as the added resistance of these rollers provides excess friction that leads to premature wear of the polycarbonate end caps.
