- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 5` 8"
- 140 lbs
My first impressions have been crystal clear where my previous pairs left me wondering if I bought the right pads. These pads are simply comfortable and provide a decent amount of protection. I ride with pads anytime I plan on being aggressive and I love to jump and make bad decisions. I have been searching for a pad that can be worn all the time and won't fall down when pedaling or crashing. The Carves totally deliver. I don't notice them when I am pedaling and in general didn't really think about them at all while riding. This is a good thing!! Having two straps is huge for someone like me that never quite fits into a size chart. Most two strap pads are way to beefy and stiff for all day pedaling. This pad is a perfect medium duty solution. The only downside might be that they could be warm. I find all pads to be warm so its not a big deal to me. The foam feels great and is more flexible that my other set of impact foam pads. Anyway. These pads ended my search for the perfect all around all day pad that doesn't slide around. Can't speak to the durability quite yet. I usually wait to review products but these felt so perfect from the jump that I had to get one in right away.

Comfortable and Burly
- I've used it several times
If you’re tired of knee pads falling down, give these fellows a try. Having a tightening strap on the top and the bottom is really nice. They are not great for pedaling but in my opinion, any knee pads that are going to save your knees in a gnarly crash are not going to be super comfortable on an epic XC ride. That being said, they have a nice soft material on the inside and if you loosen the straps they were more comfortable than some knee pads i’ve tried. I mostly put these in my pack on the way up and then leave them on for the rest of the day, climbs included.
