The newcomer, improved.
We're excited to see Minnesota-based newcomer iSSi offering subtle tweaks and improvements to improve its line of mountain pedals this year. Already earning attention for entering an industry long dominated by a few giants, iSSi's functional, bright designs are looking better than ever.
As the weight-conscious member of the line, the II Triple Pedal received the same modifications as the Triple Trail to help it interact better with both SPD and iSSi branded cleats, while retaining its ultralight body. If you're looking for a pedal with substantial support underfoot, we'd recommend the Triple Trail, but if saving grams ranks among your most important goals, the II Triple offers responsive engagement, now better than ever with a redesigned retention claw. iSSi squared-off the sides of the claw to help the mechanism better interact with the tension spring, and the improved relationship provides a more satisfying pop when you twist your shoe out of the pedal.
Whether you use the II Triple for 'cross racing in the fall, commuting by day, or keep it dedicated to your featherweight XC frame, the 14.6 degree release angle inspires confidence that the pedals will react the way you need them to, without overreacting. We also appreciate iSSi's approach to the pedal's internals. In forgoing the traditional bearing/bushing combo in favor of three fully sealed cartridge bearings, iSSi eliminates the need for routine maintenance, with an easy replacement process once the bearings reach the end of their lifespan.
- Minimal clipless pedal ideal for XC, 'cross, or commutes
- Pared-down body for lightness over support
- Improved release angle and cleat interaction

Like an XT, but Better!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This pedal feels just like my old XT's and I found the Issi cleats work on my XTs and Shimano cleats work in these. They are just a few grams heavier than XTR pedals, and they should be easy to service. The bearings feel great, getting in and out of the pedal is consistent and easy, and they match my bike. I'm sold!
