K-Traze Knee Pad
When you're looking for an every-day knee pad, you'll surely have some priorities. Firstly, you need pedal-ability, then breathability, comfort, protection, and a secure fit, and Ion's K-Traze Knee Pads offer just that. These lightweight pads contour to your body with flexible SAS-TEC padding, providing protection from abrasion, and light impacts, while super Super Perforator neoprene keeps the fit snug, and allows sweat to escape. The back of the knee utilizes Ion's mesh panels that let the breeze in, helping you stay cool on punchy climbs, and a compression strap on top locks the fit in place.
- Light and breathable pads for everyday trail riding
- SAS-TEC padding protects from abrasion and light impacts
- Flexible construction is built to move with you
- Let your skin breathe with super perforated neoprene
- Compression strap on top secures your fit in place
- Contoured construction is super pedal-able

I’ve owned a previous pair of Ion knee pads that were mediums and didn’t stay up on my knee. So when I upgraded my knee pad I thought I would get a small. Small was too small! I’m hoping the mediums will work.

First off...my feedback comes from a trail riding perspective, where having pads stay in place, and not bunch up or pinch on long pedaling days, is the ultimate goal. Unfortunately, I haven't experienced that with these. A few good points first: the knee cap protection is very solid, and I have no worries is sufficient to protect my knees from a good knock. The overall construction of the pads and stitching seems top notch too. I've ridden them 20ish times this summer, and they're showing no signs of wear. Should last a while. But the main problem I'm experiencing, like all the other pads I've tried so far, is they just don't stay in place in the thigh area. They don't slide down the calf.....the lower gripper does stay in place. But the upper section, even with the compression strap which I was REALLY hoping would solve this problem.....slides down my thigh within 10 mins of pedaling, leaving a bunched up mess (see attached pic) that then pinches behind the knee. I'm 5'6", 140lbs, with medium size thighs, wearing a size Small pad. Is my dream of finding a pair of knee pads that can stay put with a lot pedaling a fantasy?!?! I'll try the Pearl Izumi Elevate knee guards next, see if that extended upper section (almost like a knee warmer) solves this problem.

I am 5’11 169 lb and found that the fox launch 3do stay super comfy in place. My suggestion. Cheers
