Why We Like The K-Pact Knee Pad

When it comes to days in the bike park, most of your time is spent laughing with your crew, blasting berms, and boosting off of rollers, but when it comes to protection, things get a bit more serious. That's why Ion builds the K-Pact Knee Pad out of rugged SAS-TEC performance padding, perforated neoprene, and Power Aramid that shields blow to keep you going back for more, even after taking a wicked digger.

SAS-TEC's padding is hard to beat when it comes to body armor, and the German innovators have been proving it for years with their motorcycle line. It uses 3D visco-elastic soft foam that has a knack for remaining pliable when you're riding, so it can move with you on the bike, and becoming a firm, shock-absorbing pad at the moment of impact. It's backed up with Power Aramid on top, designed to withstand abrasion and tears for longevity, and a breathable neoprene backing that provides a touch of impact-absorption, while wrapping your leg snugly for a secure fit. The pads feature silicone grippers at top and bottom to help them stay locked into place, along with two hook-and-loop straps that can be cinched down for a fuss-free descent.

Awkward Fit -> Down-Sized, Now Awesome

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have fairly muscular thighs, so I had to order a large in order to make them fit. However, after a few uses they have stretched quite a bit around the thigh and are now way too big in that area, and now I am stuck with pads that don't fit right. UPDATE: Downsized to a size MEDIUM, and now they are absolutely amazing. Super comfortable, even after hours of pedaling. The protection is great, especially the side padding, and has saved my knees/ shins on several occasions.

Comfortable knee pads

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I got these for my girlfriend. We measured according to the chart and got a small, but she thought they were too tight. Exchanged for a medium and she says they are perfect. They stay put and are comfortable. She hasn?t taken any falls with them but they seem like a very good product that offers a lot of protection, and she doesn?t even really notice that they are on when riding.

Tested! Saved my knee!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Fell on a >30 degree slope downhill when doing about 20+ mph. Landed/slided on my left and ION did a perfect job keeping my knees from the sharp loose gravels. Fibers not torn. The guard didn’t move around either. Breathable and protective. Worth my money!
