Variety is the spice of life.
Flat roads and repetitive tracks are too boring to motivate you to go the extra mile—you crave changes in scenery and unexpected surprises to keep you intrigued every time you go out for a run. The Inov 8 Women's Roclite 305 Trail Running Shoe caters to runners who appreciate adventure runs where unexpected climbs, washed-out creek beds, and brushy sections of trail are just par for the course. When you encounter rocky sections of trail and steep descents on loose dirt, the Roclite's durable Tri-C rubber sole with claw-shaped cleats ensure dependable traction, so you don't feel compelled to slow your pace. A moderately cushioned midsole disperses the impact of each step and increases energy return to keep some spring in your step during long training runs and intense endurance races.

- Burly and breathable upper supported by overlays
- Cushioned midsole absorbs shock and enhances energy return

Super light, thoughtful construction
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 9.5
After trying on 7 or 8 trail runners (and one hiking shoe), these were in my top 2 for out of the box comfort for my medium-to-wide foot and low arch.
Ultimately I decided to go with the Altra Lone Peak because they were just a touch wider than these, and had a touch less mesh (I hike a lot in the desert, and more mesh = more sand in my shoes).
If money were no object I would have kept both pairs and used the Alta Lone Peak more for backpacking, and these for local trail running and hiking.
These are CRAZY light! And I really like the construction, especially the tongue. If you look close at the photo you can see the tongue is stitched all the way up the sides, which obviously keeps it in place (a major probably for many other shoes), and it doesn't make it any more difficult to put them on. They go on easy, and they are really comfortable.
And on a bonus note, I wasn't totally sold from the photo, but they look great in person!
I wear a 9.5 in most shoes, and the 9.5 was the right size in these, too.
