- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 8.5
I h ave the latest Metcons and Nanos. These definitely rank 3rd. Where is the cushion? Seriously? I felt like I was walking on the floor barefoot. Support was inbetween the Metcons and Nanos. RETURNING.
Very technical cross training shoes
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs large
You can tell these shoes are specifically designed for cross training (weights, cardio) with a simple look.
Every detail in the construction is optimized for that. For instance, the first thing I noticed is that they are incredible light (compared to my old running shoes)! The feel like cardboard. I was even worried they would not last since how could they possible be that light?
Anyways, the reason they are so light I presume is to make it easier to do box jumps or sprints (or pull ups, etc.. you get the point). So far I have zero complaints against that or their durability for that matter (been using them for one month or so). Other thing I like is the protection on the front in case you drop your weights. I've smashed enough toes to care for that.
Also, one detail is that these are not built to get outside - at all. Water passes through them as if you were wearing sandals. But that's a trade off for breathability, which is fine for me. Mostly a heads up in case anyone intended to use them for running outside on rainy days. They do dry fast, which I think is a side effect of such breathability.
It blows my mind how much a thoughtfully engineered cross teaming show can change the fitness game. This is my first pair of cross trainers, I've been working out in your basic running shoe or casual sneaker for years and was always cramping and taking my shoes off for any type of strength training. The inov 8 f lights are such a well designed shoe neither of those things happen any more. I feel properly supported, weather I'm dead lifting, doing box jumps or even short sprints. I highly recommended them. They breath very well and are extremely lightweight. I wear a size 9.5 and these fit true to size perfectly.
Ideal training shoe
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I picked up this shoe to replace some old Reebok cross trainers and I absolutely love them! They have a stable platform for squatting and dead lifting and are light enough for sprints and box jumps. They don't have a lot of cushion, but it is just enough to take the impact of a good plyometric workout. Sizing is spot on, I got my street shoe size and it fits perfect.
