Why We Like The 101 Enduro S 29in Boost Wheelset

Its easy to spend weeks if not months conjuring up a dream wheelset that never fits the bank account — we certainly have done so ourselves. Snappy hubs, burly rims that don't flex under pressure, and lets face it, aesthetics matter too, but with high-end wheelsets typically landing in the 4-digit price range it can be hard to bring these things into fruition. Thankfully Industry Nine aims to mitigate this with the 101 Enduro S 29in Boost Wheelset. This wheelset manages to tick all of our boxes when it comes to ride quality, engagement, and pocket friendliness, and with the I9 name placed on them, we know we can trust that they'll be as durable as they are sleek.

The wheels are built on I9's new 101 hub, which takes some queues from the Torch and Hydra, but goes in a more economical direction that sheds teeth, and offers 4-degrees of engagement. They're laced up to I9's beefy Enduro S rim, providing a solid platform to tackle black diamond runs and all-day epics in the backcountry. And since they're constructed with 28 J-bend steel spokes instead of the aluminum found on the 305's, you can enjoy them at a more approachable price that leaves you with extra cash for other upgrades, or even a few race entry fees.

Great wheelset

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These came stock on my fully built bike. They have been superb and would certainly buy regardless if stock on a bike or not. The hub isn't too loud which is nice. The engagement truly makes a big difference in riding feel and techy lines. they have been bullet proof having set a few branches into the spokes with no issues. I weigh 220lbs and really like to send it. They are compliant without being too harsh.

Solid wheelset zero problems

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This was an upgrade from my stock Bontrager wheelset, which was fine while it lasted. I'm not the most precise rider and often smash through rock gardens rather than picking a nice line. I've ridden this locally on rough trails, hit a few drops, and even done a day with them at the Northstar bike park. After 6 months of riding and zero problems, I can heartily give it 5 stars. Not the cheapest for alloy, but true out of the box and have stayed true. Hub noise isn't obnoxious, but crisp and unique.

Great wheel set

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought these to replace a stock wheel set and I can definitely say it was well worth the money. The wheel is very stiff and yet very light for alloy. I love the engagement and also glad it has the traditional i9 hub noise!
