Why We Like The Ibis Ripmo AF Deore Air Mountain Bike

The Ibis Ripmo AF is the affordable, all-metal version of the beloved Ripmo and an excellent choice for younger or more aggressive riders. Designed for aggressive trail or enduro riding, the Ripmo features 147mm of DW-Link suspension, which climbs gracefully and descends aggressively. A 64.9-degree head tube angle combined with short 435mm chainstays give us a bike that is both agile and stable on the descents ensuring capability all over the mountain. A 77-degree seat tube angle puts us in an efficient pedaling position when climbing, and the long wheelbase ensures stability when heading down the steepest trails. Additional features on the Ripmo AF include integrated downtube and chainstay protectors, a single water bottle mount, a revised swingarm, coil-shock compatibility, and SRAM's UDH universal derailleur hanger.

The Ibis Ripmo AF Deore build features great value and quality components. First up, Ibis's aluminum frame is super durable and now features a universal hanger for easy replacements in the future. The 12-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain sports a wide-range 10-51t gear range for the confidence to make it up any climb. Ibis Blackbird Send wheels have us skipping through rock gardens with ease, and the Premium Maxxis tires throw down all the grip we need for aggressive riding. A Marzocchi Bomber Air rear shock maintains traction on rough trails and gives us adjustments to tune our suspension to our riding style, while the Bomber Z1 Coil fork up front sports 160mm of travel and has a coil spring for the ultimate sensitivity.

*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
