Double shred.

Finding an enduro sled outfitted with a double chainring can feel a bit like questing in search of an ancient chalice housed under the protection of immortal knights from medieval times. Thankfully, the 2017 Ibis Mojo HD3 Carbon XT 2x Complete Mountain Bike brings all the rowdy HD3 capability you're looking for with the gear range of Shimano's double XT M8000 drivetrain to your next day at the park. Add in hydraulic brakes, a dropper post, and the versatility to run anywhere from 2.3 to 2.8in tires, and this bike is practically chomping at the bit to drop in right out of the box.

By isolating the rear wheel movement from pealing and braking forces, the Mojo HD3's DW-Link suspension platform boasts a plush and linear suspension motion that feels like an even bigger bike, yet covers the flats and climbs with an XC-inspired attitude. The tapered head tube's 66.6-degree angle takes advantage of DW-Link's soundness and the chassis' stability to hit a steeper angle than most six-inch bikes. That means the Mojo HD3 lunges into climbs with an aggressive front end that doesn't leave you stranded when you're dropping in for the descent.

The bike's low, 13.5in bottom bracket and stubby, 16.9in chainstays pair with the front end to create an uncommonly agile enduro sled that drops in fast on the down side but gets up and goes when the trail turns skyward, defying the categorizations that limit so many other bikes. As an added touch, the shock tune and suspension keep the bottom bracket height at the sag point the same, regardless of tire size.

Ibis stands by threaded bottom brackets with the Mojo, a move that kindly dismisses any proprietary press-fit systems in favor of a rock-solid, proven standard. Dual-row angular contact bearings on the drive-side of the linkage require zero preload adjustment and dramatically reduce play compared to standard, sealed bearings, further boosting the bike's lateral stability and your own sense of control.
