The Ibis 935 Carbon Fiber 29in Boost Wheelset ushers in an updated hybrid carbon layup that increases strength over its predecessors and offset spoke hole placement for evenly tensioned spokes across the wheel. These changes, paired with Ibis’ penchant for making hard-hitting, fast-spinning wheels make these an ideal set to push the boundaries of your trail riding dreams.

By now, you know the story of Boost axle spacing: adding 10mm up front and 6mm out back improves the spokes' bracing angles for net gains in tracking consistency and power transfer. The 935 rims' generous widths produce a similar stiffening effect, with additional benefits extending to the tires. The 29mm internal width lets the tire beads sit wide and keeps the side walls more vertically oriented, which increases air volume capacity and allows tire pressure to be reduced by a claimed four to six PSI, on average.

Lower pressure and fatter tires net greater traction and handling, as the tire is able to roll "through" obstacles rather than bouncing across them, maintining more contact with the trail. Airborne tires can't grip to transfer power or hold lines in corners, so more trail contact means faster, more confident rides. Wider rims also translate to a wider tire footprint, further boosting traction and increasing stability.

The 935 Carbon Fiber 29in Boost Wheelset uses Industry Nine's highly acclaimed Torch hubs, which feature near-instantaneous 3-degree engagement for powering up and over trail obstacles with ease. Teflon shields and O-rings snap solidly onto the endcaps of the hubs, preventing trail grit from slowly compromising the wheel's smooth characteristics.

The 935 comes tubeless-ready, and is compatible with centerlock rotors. It’s available with a 15 x 110mm front and 12 x 148mm rear hub pairing, with your choice of an HG or XD driver. Choose the HG driver if you're riding a Shimano/SRAM 9/10-speed drivetrain or pick up the XD driver version if you're running the latest 11/12-speed drivetrain from SRAM.

Great Wheels

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These wheels were perfectly true out of the box and easy to set up tubeless. Been riding them for a month with no issues. I love the wide ID rims, my tires have better grip and I lowered my regular PSI by 2 lbs.

Awesome Wheelset

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had these wheels on my Santa Cruz Hightower now for about 6 weeks. These things are great. They're light, but super stiff. They're built to withstand trail riding, and not super XC oriented. They're also a perfect width. I've had Ibis' super wide wheels, and loved them, but these feel a little more natural feeling. You can't go wrong with Ibis wheelsets and these are a great second evolution of their original sets. Only wish is that they came in 6 bolt configurations, but its nothing an adapter can't easily solve. Also, can't go wrong ordering through backcountry, Ben is the man!

Awesome Wheelset

Thanks for the review! Glad I could help you get these wheels on your whip.
