ArcticFusion Tube Kit

Shredding powder for hours on end requires plenty of water to stay hydrated and alert. Unfortunately, powder tends to come with downright frigid temps, so make sure your water supply doesn't freeze up with the HydraPak ArcticFusion Tube Kit. This insulated tube prevents the hose from freezing solid where it's most exposed to the elements.

Just what I needed!

I took this above 18,000” and 20,000” during the middle of the night and it didn't freeze!! The cap is more of a dust cover but if you sip at regular frequencies you can keep it unblocked. (Note: the only weak link in the chain is the tube on the bladder that goes from the bottom to the top of the bladder; Hydrapak/Osprey only do this I think. That did actually get icy. I think if I remove it and just plug the ArticFusion directly into the bottom of the bladder everything will be perfect!)

ArcticFusion Tube Maintians Temps

I use my HydraPak both in the summer (riding/hiking) and the winter(skiing) and the ArcticFusion tube maintains the temperature of the fluids I am drinking.

Doesn’t fit?

I bought this to go with my Velocity IT 1.5 to keep things fully insulated and it keeps popping out of the port. I thought the connections were universal. Was stoked for the full insulated but not gonna working if it’s coming out and making stuff leak plus messing with the insulation of the bladder. I assume I can’t return since I’ve taken the plastic off and used it briefly, but very bummer. Climate change made this seem essential.

Keeps me hydrated when cold!

Love this insulated tub! We ski tour most weeks and I used it on an hit trip 2 weeks ago and this has been awesome. I have been really impressed with how well it prevents the water from freezing. I have not used it much in single digit temps but it has been good for teens and 20 degree F. Another trick I have learned it to blow air back through the tub once you have had a drink to eliminate water sitting in the tub- I did this one tour when it was really cold and did not have any problems.

Needs shut off valve (PLEASE INCLUDE TEMP RATING)

If only this had a shut off valve...the amount of times I've bent over to strap in and out of my snowboard only to find water leaking is too many to count. Otherwise I haven't had an issue. I got this because my avy pack doesn't have an insulated shoulder strap. My resort pack does and so the standard insulated hose is sufficient. I would recommend to Hydrapak that they include temperature ratings in the tech spec section of their product page.

tube with pioneer 6L

the tube is compliant with the pioneer 6L and it is made with quality. maybe a little bit to short when you have a real backpack, not just the smal bag provided with pioneer 6L

Disappointing Product

We’ve run trail in the winter for years with the standard tube and decided to upgrade to the insulated tube for this winter. First hike and 10 minutes into a snowshoe hike both of them froze, put the packs under the coat and still frozen……basically no hydration for close to a 3 hour hike

The most aggravating hydration product ever

I think a better name for this hose might be the “tropical hose”. I’ve never not had it freeze on me during alpine climbing trips. Even keeping this thing *and* the bladder in my sleeping bag all night, it will still freeze solid the next day during use. There dirt cover is also super loose and won’t stay on, so it’s effectively useless. There is also no one way valve or on/off valve in the system, so if there is any pressure at all on your bladder, water immediately starts spraying out of the end of the hose and can’t be stopped. So prepare to lose half your water to the designers not including a simple one way or on/off valve *anywhere* in the system. The junction between the bite vale and the nylon/plastic base also leaks.
