  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So I purchased this backpack after doing my research and getting a lot of good feedback about it! And they were not lying ! The support on this backpack makes my day hiking so much better ! My back won't hurt and the compartments around the waist are perfect for small objects like your phone

Excellent Organization Lacks Ventilation

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I really liked this bags organizational features. I had plenty of different pockets for my gear, as well as a zippered mesh pocket on the interior to keep things separate (however I found this pocket to be a little small for my liking). The front "stuff-it" pocket proved to be spacious and useful for quickly grabbing or stowing gear. Many bags claim to have hip belt pockets, however they are too small to be used for anything. I was glad this wasn't the case with this bag. In terms of organization, the only thing I really didn't like was having to take everything out in order to get items at the bottom of the pouch, and the natural curvature of the bag that takes away from storage space. I also find that having a completely separate pocket for the hydration unit is useless, inconvenient, and takes away even more space. I was also very unimpressed with the amount of noise the unit made moving around in the bag.

As for the suspension system, I was not at all impressed. Most backpacks with a trampoline system offer excellent ventilation. This was not at all the case. I am not someone who sweats very much, however it did not take very long at all for my back to get sweaty with this backpack... on a brisk cold autumn day! This being said however, the over contact this suspension system has with your back gives very good load support. Even still, for a bag that brags excellent ventilation and appears to have ventilation, I was not at all impressed. I also found the suspension system to be lacking in comfort.

The hydration unit is excellent, no complaints here. The 3D shape to the unit is very smart, as is the handle, and I find it to fill up easily. The only addition would've liked is the addition of the hose being removable, as I find this to be very convenient.

Lastly, the rain cover. Why!? Why no rain cover? Why? I am a firm believer that all backpacks should come with rain covers, especially day packs, and especially ones with exterior stuff-it mesh pockets.

The best daypack I've ever owned

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This pack has been through it all! Seriously though. Backcountry splitboarding, 60-mile fastpacking weekends, Backpacking through Mexico and typical day hikes in Mammoth Lakes. I love the bladder that comes with the pack too! It functions better than any Camelbak products that I’ve owned. The ability to hold trekking poles, my sleeping pad, maps and jacket on the exterior is super rad as well. And the fit? Oh man, the fit is also as close to perfect as possible. One of the most comfortable packs I’ve ever owned! Despite the size it can fit quite a bit more than I’d expect. Definitely enough room for an overnight lightweight mission without a bear box. The water bottle sleeves on the side are plush as well meaning there won't be an issue trying to slide a nalgene into it when you need to either bring more water or sacrifice the hydro system. My biggest problem with this pack is this. And it might be totally due to my inadequacy, but I have no idea where the hose from the bladder is supposed to snake through the pack to the strap where it belongs. It has literally been the thorn in my side trying to figure it out. If anybody knows about the secret code or wardrobe access to Narnia that this hose needs please let me know. Aside from that I’d highly recommend this incredibly comfortable, durable and functional 1-2 day pack!
