Description

Windstopper Thermo Beanie

For chilly commutes and cold-weather training rides, the Gore Wear Windstopper Thermo Beanie protects your head and ears from losing valuable body heat as you ride. A Gore Windstopper membrane prevents wind from stealing your heat without trapping in moisture as you work up a sweat. The synthetic fabric wicks away perspiration, dries quickly, and stretches to maximize comfort throughout long days in the saddle. Gore even added slits above the ears so you can comfortably, and more importantly securely wear your glasses or sunglasses to keep your vision clear.
  • Beanie for cool-weather cycling
  • Gore Windstopper membrane seals out wind
  • Elastic panels for comfortable long-term wear
  • Fully taped seams for additional protection
  • Side slits let you secure glasses

Although I may not like paying premium prices for anything, GORE is one company that makes it worth the price. They far outlast the competition. Just bought their winter thermal beanie. It's the best of all I've ever owned, in over 50 years of cycling!!!

My head measurement is right at 22.75 inches. Borderline on the size chart. Should I go up to L or go with M?

Quality seems great, and I love the slits for glasses. But the ear area wasn't quite long enough to cover my ears. I am a woman with a normal sized head, I got the Medium -- it fit well around the head but just barely covered my ears. I wanted to wear this while cycling and I'm sure it would have ridden up a little and exposed my earlobes. I went with Gore's helmet cap instead, which has much better ear coverage.

Another great Gore product

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I wore this recently for a 2 hour ride in weather around freezing temps (low to mid 30s F). This kept my head, ears, and forehead warm but still managed to breathe pretty well. This was the first ride where I didn't get a headache from an exposed forehead, and the holes for your glasses were extremely useful. Would recommend.

Wore it today during 39 degree weather and it kept my head warm. The holes to slid your glasses in was something new for me and let me tell you it was great ! I love gore, they make quality stuff. True to size and would recommend

Great skullcap. Fits very well, cuts the wind and cold to keep your melon warm. The slots for glasses are perfectly engineered and work well. I have ridden in 25 - 35F degree weather and my head and ears stayed nice and warm. Definitely worth the money.
