C7 Vent Bib Short+

Riding in the heat just got easier with the Gore C7 Vent Bib Short+. Developed in collaboration with retired champ Cancellara, this short is highly breathable yet maintains the support needed to ride at your best. It's perfect for hot and humid days, as it's made with quick-drying 4-way stretch fabrics that are cool to the touch and quickly move heat away from the skin. Laser cut holes in the bibs as well as strategic mesh paneling work together to provide outstanding breathability, without taking away from the short's compressive support.

For the current line of C7 bib shorts, Cancellara's input was used to develop a revolutionary new design Gore calls "central torso architecture." With traditional bib shorts, the shorts are made first and the chamois is added onto a fully built bib short shell. With central torso architecture, the chamois is fully integrated with the bib straps and the garment is constructed around it. Gore claims this design results in a chamois that stays put all the time, no matter how much you move around on the saddle. The idea behind it is that while riding in traditional shorts, your bib straps exert tension on the stretchy garment fabric from multiple directions, which can cause the chamois to shift positions, especially as you move in and out of the saddle. With central torso architecture, the entire garment revolves around the seat insert with no parts moving independently of each other, keeping the chamois in an optimal position at all times.

Considering that the C7 Vent Bib Short+ is made for hot weather riding, Gore employs their Expert Vent chamois to keep you cool and comfortable. A complex shape and dense foam construction minimizes impacts and avoids numbness by taking pressure off critical areas. And as the name implies, the Expert Vent chamois is more ventilated than its siblings, absorbing a smaller amount of moisture but drying more quickly, making it ideal for summer races or even indoor training sessions. At the front of the chamois you'll find a Gore Windstopper cup, which may sound counter-intuitive for a summer bib, but this pre-formed cup ultimately just adds a little extra protection against variable temps while preventing unwanted compression to this sensitive anatomical area.

  • Gore's premium bib shorts made specifically for hot weather

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Arm Length:
Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

Great light-weight shorts

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Shorts fit great and are very comfortable. The shorts are great for warm weather riding. The material is pretty thin but seems to hold up pretty well. The first time I wore the shorts, I laid my bike down and gave myself of pretty decent case of road rash. I put several holes in the shorts (which I'm sure shortened their life a little) but I didn't shred the shorts. I bought another pair to set aside until these shorts wear out.

First, got to get this out of the way, these scratch just like the last pair from Gore (a few years back). The bib straps have a rough edge where they run down the front of the short to the chamois. (This is the Gore design of building the short around the chamois. But it left scratchy straps that hug your lower abdomen) The straps above the waist are very comfortable. Fit is consistent with Assos and Giordana FRC through leg. Straps perhaps a little longer and more comfortable. Waist is very relaxed and is unable to hold back of chamois close to backside. Walking around you got this thing sticking out behind you. In riding position no problem. A smaller size would not work as legbands are bang on and length just right. I really liked the Windstopper pouch. Held things in place during ride. I ride in 100+ degree weather and it feels cooler than my other shorts. I’m not sure if previous reviewer wore his or just speculated. I’d give these a five if the waist was more snug and the straps didn’t scratch. Chamois/strap concept and Windstopper pouch are better than any other bibshort I’ve worn.
