C7 Short Tights+

There are days for bibs and getting dressed to the nines to get out for a ride, and there are days that are too warm for yet another layer beneath a jersey. Gore’s C7+ Shorts provide the fit and support of a high-level bib without the additional material on the upper body. Made from a lightweight and breathable opaque mesh, the shorts wick sweat away from the body.

The seams of the panels sit offset from potential friction zones against saddle or toptube, preventing chafing when you're out of the saddle and pushing for your breakaway. The hems aim for a seamless transition as well, utilizing a flat hem with elastic to grip your legs on bottom, and a wide waistband up top that locks into place in back with elastic, and skips elastic on the front to maximize comfort. Speaking of comfort, your sit bones will appreciate the Expert Vent chamois supporting them through the miles. This chamois cushions in the sensitive spots, and minimizes pressure with cutaways elsewhere to provide the right fit to keep you comfortable for miles.

These shorts are awesome. They are one of the few shorts that I can wear on extended rides, even did a 75 miler this past weekend, with no issues. The chamois is on the fuller side, but smooth and non-irritating, perfect for distance. I do wear these on shorter rides as well though. And the length is perfect, it comes a bit above my knee, which might be long for some people but I prefer a longer short. I wear the medium and I'm 5'5", 120 lbs. I could probably go with the small, but I don't want that much compression. The only reason I took one star off is because they are a bit low cut in front, so curvier women might have an issue with the stomach area. But overall, I love these shorts.

Very low rise

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I have an older version of these shorts and wear them often on long rides. For these C7 shorts I ordered a size large based on the size chart. They fit fine with one huge exception -- the waistband is way too low in front, a full 2 inches lower than the old pair, totally unlike the photos. They are unwearable. I'm 5'7" -- I don't know if they'd be okay for a shorter woman. If they had a normal rise they would probably be very comfortable -- the chamois looks similar to those on my older Gore shorts, and the fabric is thin but okay. The windproof "cup" seems utterly unnecessary to me -- if it's that cold outside then I'm wearing long tights -- but it's thin and doesn't get in the way.
