C5 Gore Windstopper Thermo Overshoes
Winter rides will no longer end prematurely due to your feet being freezing-cold and soaking-wet when you head out with the Gore Wear C5 Gore Windstopper Thermo Overshoes. Warmth and protection that zips up right over your shoes, these overshoes' Gore-Tex Windstopper membrane acts as an impenetrable fortress to howling winds, while toasty PrimaLoft Silver insulation throughout ensures warmth in spiraling temps, keeping you happily riding along in miniature blizzards. It's also incredibly breathable, so your feet don't soak in their own perspiration when you're pushing yourself at a brisk cadence. Plus, WindStopper also works to repel outside moisture from soaking through and leaving your feet cold, damp, and oh so sad.
- Protective overshoe for winter rides in inclement weather
- Gore WindStopper provides breathable, windproof protection
- PrimaLoft Silver insulation traps toasty heat
- Works with standard cycling shoes and pedal systems
- Side zipper facilitates convenient entry and exit
- Elasticized rear for a snug, shoe-wrapping fit
- Reflective piping and logo for visibility

Too big and bulky (for me anyway)
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- Runs large
- Size Bought
- 9.0-10.5
- Height
- 5` 11"
- Weight
- 168 lbs
I wear 43.5 Specialized shoes, and ordered the 9.0-10.5 based on the size guide. They are way too big, with about 1-2 inches of material flapping in front of the toe, and a loose, bulky wrap around the rest of the shoe. Not sure why the toes are shaped to a point. Most cycling shoes have rounded toes. Only realized this after I cut the tags. That being said, these feel warmer than the others I have. Dual layer works well, with the outer blocking the wind (Gore Windstopper works like magic), and the inner fleece keeping feet warm (haven’t used them below 45 degrees F yet though).

Best choice for warm, dry feet
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
These booties will keep you warm and dry as the temperatures drop to freezing and below. I compared these to the Sugoi Resistor and Shimano S-Phyre Insulated and chose the Gore C5 Thermo as the winner. Very good construction of seams and zippers. Toe fabric will resist abraison when unclipping from pedals to stop. Fleece lined, windproof fabric is breathable and warmer than the Sugoi Resistor. Much easier to get on and off than the S-Phyre (which is essentially a neoprene sock). My only very minor complaint is that the fabric is not completely snug around the toe and the ankle joint like the Sugoi and S-Phyre. This is good because it will fit your shoe regardless of the toe/buckle profile, and the top of the bootie will not pull down as your ankle flexes during riding. "Watt weenies" might want a more aero, snug fit but for winter riding this is not a priority for me.

With a pair of Gore wool socks under these babies, can get down to freezing and feet stay nice and warm. Long 30 mile rides and still warm as a bug in a rug.

I bough a pair of the neons. Not the most stylish but they have great visibility. Kept my feet toasty on the 30’s and mid 20’s.

Hey Fiona, According to Gore Wear these specific covers are made for both road cycling shoes and mountain bike shoes so the covers would work on SPD moutain bike shoes.
