C5 Gore Windstopper Insulated Overshoes

When temperatures threaten to make your toes shy away from your bike shoes and seek out their fuzzy slippers, entice them onto your bike with the help of the Gore Wear C5 Gore Windstopper Insulated Overshoes. PrimaLoft Silver provides insulation even in damp conditions, without adding bulk to keep you from moving freely. The fabric resists moisture as you pedal through melting conditions, and the cuffs feature elastic seals to prevent drafts from sneaking in. These shoes feature a full zip so that you can slide your bike shoe straight in, and a contoured sole that fits neatly around cleats. The external fabric is reinforced at the toes and sole to help them stand up to abrasion—extending their life, and therefore, your comfort.

  • Overshoes for riding in cold weather
  • PrimaLoft Silver Hi-Loft provides warmth without bulk
  • Contoured sole is compatible with cleats
  • Full-length zipper for easy on and off
  • Abrasion-resistant toes and sole for durability
  • Elastic cuffs seal out drafts

Fit is Horrible to prior version

If you like a weightless like plastic bag over your feet, then these are for you. I had the prior version, in the same size, and they had a big but relatively tight feel on shoes. This new version is very disappointing. They are oversized and have a weightless like insulation that fits excessively lose over shoes. Even over a 2nd shoe cover these appear as if wind alone would lift cover off my feet.

Agree, the Goretex Thermo Overshoe was just about right. I cannot understand what the people at Gore Wear were thinking, drinking or smoking. This is a step in the wrong direction

Not the sexiest design but they help keep my feet warm. First ride was on a 25F day and with wool socks feet stayed toasty. I wear an 11 size shoe and bought the 11-13 sized bootie and they fit fine. Wish they’d take in a little of the fabric to make them a little more streamlined.

I bought these for my wife, who frequently complains about cold feet on rides. She was a bit worried about the mass of these covers, but ultimately found it to be no problem at all - other than an occasional rubbing sound against the cranks. After about thirty miles in the mid-forties, she was THRILLED. She's worn them a few more times and remains a huge fan of these covers.

Warm AND Dry!

I have used these for the worst weather ( temps in the single digits, snow, rain, mud.) They get wet, but only after 2 hours of steady rain. I use them over the softer Gore booties on the worst days. They fit over my size 47 mtn. bike shoes. They have held up well for 6 or 7 winters in Northern New England.

These shoe covers are warm and very well constructed. I was impressed by the very sturdy sole and toe, hoping that they will last more than a season. But they run VERY BIG. I got a size to my exact cycling shoe size, and they were still way too big in the heel. I took a sturdy needle and coat thread and sewed a couple of darts in the heels. They now fit better, but they are quite baggy and unattractive. I do not recommend them. GORE makes another shoe cover that is lined in thick fleece that is much better, better fitting, and better looking.
