C5 Gore-Tex Trail Hooded Jacket

Whether you're hitting the trails in the colder months, or riding the high alpine during summer monsoon season, the weather can be unpredictable so it's a good idea to take a rain jacket along for the ride. This lightweight waterproof jacket is cut specifically for mountain biking, and can be packed down nice and tight to be stowed in your hydration pack or jersey pocket.

The jacket's lightweight nylon construction keeps you from overheating on long climbs, allowing your sweat to wick away quickly while you ride, while slicing through the breeze, so the descent that follows doesn't have to feel so chilly. Since its meant for protection on the bike, the jacket is equipped with an elastic hem that holds it in place when you're on the bars, keeping you covered, and a full-length front zipper that lets you drop heat single-handed when big efforts get your blood pumping. If there's still a drizzle at the end of your ride, reflective accents will help you stay visible as you pedal back home.

  • Lightweight, packable jacket for rainy trail days
  • Stay dry in a downpour with the Gore-Tex membrane
  • Breathable material keeps sweat wicked away
  • Taped seams all around for total weather protection
  • Full-length front zip lets you drop heat on big climbs
  • Napoleon style front pocket stows away jacket
  • Elastic locks the hem in place while you ride
  • Dropped tail protects against tire spray
  • Seam placement is designed to work with a backpack
  • Keep your head dry with slim hood that fits under helmets

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Arm Length:
Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

Zippers not durable :(

I've used it several times

It took about 10 rides before the zipper tore off the chest pocket. Their warranty department was solid and quickly sent a replacement. 4 rides into the replacement the main zipper tore off. I'm going to ask for a refund this time. Besides the zipper issue, the jacket was OK. Definitely water and windproof. More of a tight fitting jacket. Small enough to pack in my fanny pack. On the downside the main zipper likes to snag on the inner jacket material. Also, the jacket does run hot. I was hoping for better breathability. Unless it's 20f or below I end up having to remove the jacket so I don't sweat myself out. Still looking for the ideal MTB jacket...

Not meant for wooded trails!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Luckily I noticed the other review on this jacket so I ordered a size larger so it fits well. However, if you ride on trails that have trees, DO NOT buy this jacket. It is a very thin shell, particularly the sleeves. The first time I wore it I brushed up against a couple of small branches on a pine tree twice and ended up with two sizable holes in the sleeves. I have done my share of abuse to clothing and accessories but I expected a lot more from this product given the cost and the description. I highly recommend something more robust.

When I got this jacket I immediately realized that I ordered an XL & not a XXL, somehow I completely forgot that it was cycling gear...ooops lol. The jacket fits great & I have been wearing it all Winter here in the Northeast. It keeps me warm AND dry. I have to use minimal layers & keep pedaling to stay really warm, but this is actually my favorite jacket, so much so that I wear it off the bike too.

Runs very very small.

Runs small

I first ordered the XL and when I got it, it fit way too small, I returned the XL and tried the XXL and it was only a bit bigger then the XL, I could not zip it shut and forget about layering. I returned the XXL and moved on to the Showers Pass brand, XL and it is amazing. All the jackets I own are XL.
