C3 Gore-Tex Active Pant

Depending on your geographic disposition or the time of year, the weather will try to do everything it can to keep you off the bike. If you're planning on tackling those goals this season, the training can't take a back seat and you don't have time to wait for the weather to improve. Fight back with the Men's C3 Gore-Tex Active Pant from Gore Wear and stay dry on your commute, road, or mountain bike ride. Constructed with a Gore-Tex membrane, these wind- and water-proof, lightweight, and breathable cycling specific pants won't flinch at the sight of a puddle or a looming green/yellow blob hovering over your vicinity on the radar.

Gore incorporates extra reinforcement on the seat of these pants to increase durability for seasons of wet-weather performance on any cycling adventure. An adjustable elastic waistband with a flat cord helps keep the pants in place and eliminates any potential for water ingress.

The C3 Gore-Tex Active Pant comes with pre-shaped knees for easy pedaling and the Gore-Tex Active fabric is softer for greater comfort and quieter in use. In low light and inclement conditions, the reflective print on the sides and piping on the legs increases visibility to motorists. Zip tags make for easy openings, even with thick waterproof gloves on, and the adjustable leg width with hook-and-loop fasteners keeps the pant legs out of the path of your chain.
  • Lightweight, breathable pants for rainy day rides
  • Gore-Tex membrane keeps you dry
  • The active fabric is softer and quieter for max comfort
  • Regular cut with room for layering over tights or chamois
  • Reinforced seat protects from wear and tear
  • Keep your pants clear of chains with adjustable leg width
  • Reflective details keep you visible in low light
  • Stash small items in the rear waist pocket

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Arm Length:
Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.

Not the best, not the worst

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I like Gore a lot. Have 4 of their bibs, a jacket, and gloves. Sadly these pants are really bad size wise. I'm 6'3 220 and thought I could size down to a Large (as for their bibs I wear a XL). Nope, the L is still too big. They are made to wear pulled up way high but guys don't have hips and if we even have a bit of a belly that will push our pants down. Standing to pedal was bad and felt like the pants would slide down. Wearing a bib underneath makes it even slippy and the thin rope to tie the pants together would have to be ultra tight and uncomfortable to have them stay up. So I end up tugging the pants up or scooting in the saddle to reposition them so they don't feel like they're sagging. It just feels like too much fabric. Like 3-4 inches too much. So if wearing a bib/shorts feels a bit like a diaper, then adding these saggy pants make it a bit worst because they just move around so much. Bottom line is I rather go to a running store and get a waterproof jogger there. Those would fit nicer, more for a human being, and have zippered pockets on the side. These Gore pants have a back pocket but as if the butt sagging isn't an issue already, try adding weight to it. If you insist on getting these, size 2 down. I'm 6'3 and should have gotten a Medium. They have interesting Velcro by your ankle and calves that work alright but the long length still makes it feel baggy and bunching up. With all that said, if you can get these on sale they aren't the worst. They are waterproof, a bit too roomy, and will keep you warm on top of your bibs. I'll still use these on poor weather days and once you get used to the saggy design and can keep the extra fabric pulled up, it works okay.

Too long

As the other poster said, these look like great pants but they are way too long. I ordered size L and typically wear a 35x33. The waist fits great and quality looks excellent, but they are 3-4" too long even with the bottom cuffs tightened. Backcountry now charges $7 to return items, which really sucks when purchasing clothing online. Better to shop in store or places like REI/Amazon that still offer free returns on unused items that don't fit.

So close to perfect. WAY too long

When I opened them I loved them. Soft for gore tex. Well made. Ability to tighten around boots. Zippers to enable you to pull on with taking off shoes. But they run way too long. I am 6'1, 195 and the large was at least 3 inches to long. I wear a 33 x 32 in jeans. I maybe could have gone medium but the description says they are only a bit shorter. Still would be way too long. Really too bad....wanted to love them. p.s. In this period of COVID, surprised and disappointed the Backcountry appears to charge $6.95 to return.
