Gore Bike Wear Universal Gore Windstopper Thermo Overshoes $45.47
One bootie to cover them all.
When Gore Bike Wear designed the Universal Windstopper Thermo Shoe Cover, it meant "universal" in two ways. First, the sole fits road shoes and mountain shoes, so it transitions with you from fall trail rides to winter fat biking to spring base miles. Second, a Windstopper membrane, Primaloft Silver insulation, and abrasion-resistant face fabric mean that they're equal to virtually anything you or the weather can throw at them. The membrane keeps rain, snow, wind, and road spray out while the high-loft insulation keeps warmth in.
- Shoe covers for riding in the worst conditions
- Gore Windstopper membrane is weatherproof and breathes
- Primaloft insulation preserves warmth even while wet
- Durable face fabric holds up to trail and road abuse
- Reinforced toe and heel for pushing off and hike-a-bike
- Reflective details are a bright idea in low-light conditions
- Zipper closure eliminates hook-and-loop fuss
- Universal sole design compatible with mountain and road shoes

Fitment review only
These are a perfect fit for my Fi'zi:k Aria R3 shoes - Euro 44.5. I purchased the 11-13. If you are buying these, I highly recommend you go up one size. These did not fit my Northwave shoes (Euro 45) as nicely as the Fi'zi:k, but they do fit. I don't know how they do it, but the Fi'zi:k shoe is smaller than the Northwave, more roomy.
I purchased these in early April 2018 so I won't have a chance to test them in cold weather condition, however, judging by the material, I can tell they will be warmer than my old Gore Road Thermo Overshoes (size 11-13) purchased in 2012 as they have fleece on the inside and they have a much more snug, including the elastic around the ankle area to keep the wind out up there.
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: extra large
I bought an extra large due to some hints that they run small and they were right and I have a perfect fit. Very soft and comfortable, but not that water resistant all I thought. But they were a good purchase at a sale price. I might not rate so high if I paid full price.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I didn't even make it on the first ride with these covers. I am not new with these type of shoe covers so I was trying to be very careful when putting them on. GORE should have put stronger zipper given that shoe covers take a lot of pulling.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: Large
Wore these bad boys for the first time yesterday riding in 38* dry temps. I have perpetually cold feet and this was the first time I have done a whole three hour ride and felt no chill on my toes! Seriously rad shoe covers. Fleece lining aids to nice extra warmth and the DWR coating will be great to try out in rain/ snow. Only qualm about these shoe covers is that I wish I got a size smaller. I wear a size 42 so based on the size chart, ordered a size large. They are slightly baggy around my foot, nothing to big that I need to return them, but should I buy again, I would get a medium for a more tight, streamlined fit.
Overall seriously love these and looking forward to many winter rides with them.
