Be Selective.

Extend the singletrack season as long as possible by investing in some gear from Gore designed to keep you comfortable and warm. The versatile Power Trail Thermo Jersey will soon be your go-to mountain bike jersey this fall and it looks great on the trails and posting up for after-ride burgers at your local watering hole.

What is remarkable about this jersey is that even with its great sense of style, the functionality is the real star of the show. The jersey is made for the trails, but the cut isn't far from that of a road jersey and the regular fit can accommodate a baselayer. This jersey uses breathable thermal-stretch fabric to hold a layer of warm air next to your skin, keeping you toasty on shady, late-season trails without overheating. Added touches like a zipper underflap keeps wheel spray from dampening your ride and the elastic waist gripper keeps the hem in place. A media pocket with cable outlet and guidance lets you queue up your soundtrack as you attack the hero dirt with KOM aspirations on the mind. Reflective piping helps you remain visible on the short pavement jaunt back to the car.

  • A mountain bike jacket for spring and fall conditions
  • Thermo-Stretch fabric stretches and maintains warmth
  • Breathability keeps you dry with minimal sweating
  • Full front zip regulates temps
  • Zip underflap helps contain wheel spray
  • Conceled front zip pocket keeps items
  • Reflective piping for rolling back to the trailhead

Very impressive jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Wore this jersey/jacket for the first time while mountain biking and was very happy with it. Live in Wisconsin and it can get cold in the early spring/late fall riding. On this particular day it was mid/low 30s, wasn't too windy and a bit of sunshine. I wore this along with two other layers: a light long sleeve shirt and a different baselayer zip up. This was the perfect jacket to wear over top. I never got cold or hot, so it was ideal for a good day of biking. The material on the outside is nice and seems durable, while the inside is fleece for the extra warmth. I really like the extra length on the back tail end of the jacket, it's a nice addition. It isn't water resistant, so wouldn't be ideal wearing in wet conditions. But on dry days in mid 30 temps, this jacket is ideal along with a baselayer or two.
I am 6'6 and weigh 215 lbs and I got the XXL size. I usually get XL in any top, but I am glad I got the XXL as it gives a bit of extra room for wearing those baselayers underneath if needed. The length in the arms was also right on for my 6'6 wingspan as they weren't too long but they didn't get pulled up while riding and bending or adjusting my arms. Even as an XXL, I still feel I could wear this under a thicker coat on the extra cold days.

I would highly recommend this to anyone else looking for a jacket to wear while doing any kind of biking on cooler days around the 30s. It's warm with the nice fleece inside layer but will also serve well as a baselayer on real cold days. Fit is normal/slightly small, but I have found that to be the norm with all different brands of biking jackets. I would definitely purchase this again!
