Description

Description

Deciding between shorts and bibs just got a bit easier with the Gore Bike Wear Power 3.0 Shorts. The seamless design and comfortable waist are a no-brainer, and the select fabrics and women's-specific chamois give you superlative comfort every time you ride.

Gore Bike Wear used a slightly compressive nylon and elastane fabric to construct the shorts. This fabric places these shorts in the middle of the Gore range — between the Xenon and Contest in terms of quality and durability. These shorts were constructed from multiple panels so that they conform to your body while you ride. The V-shaped back yoke allows for a wide waistband that minimizes chafing and pinching.

While the construction and fabric of the shorts is important, the Power Lady insert is what sets these shorts apart from the competition. It's Gore's proven and reliable insert optimized for medium to long rides. The chamois has wide channeling on top and a stretchy microfiber that wicks moisture away. The seamless design and cushioning properties give an anatomical fit that helps keep your sit bones and soft tissue comfortable for miles. Finishing the shorts is a reflective flag in the back and logos on the side to keep you visible for early morning and dusk rides.

The Gore Bike Wear Power 3.0 Shorts - Women's are available in six sizes from X-Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black/rich red, Black/waterfall blue, Black/white, and Black.

  • Nylon and elastane fabric
  • Seamless Power Lady chamois
  • Hem gripper elastic

Great for long rides

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Sizing is correct. wore these for a 75 mile ride and they were comfortable! the padding is great!

Completely see-through!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

Honestly, when I read one of the reviews here that said that she had issues with these being see-through, I thought she was wearing the wrong size and intentionally ordered up a size just to be safe. Well, I couldn't be more shocked when I opened up the package and saw sunlight streaming through the fabric before they ever even touched my thighs. Sure they were comfy, but unless you're committed to wearing these only on the trainer, move on. Gore usually makes really high quality stuff; I have no idea what happened here.

The picture attached is my cat, taken through the unworn shorts..... hope that's all the evidence you need.

Completely see-through!

Nice shorts but see through butt crack

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XS

I like this pants. It's very comfortable and looks well made. I love the waist band. It's so soft and sooo comfortable. Not restricting or digging to your belly. I can hardly feel the waist band around my waist. Also, unlike other reviewer, I don't have so much issue with the chamois. I thought the chamois is thicker than my Gore Oxygen shorts. I rides 4 times a week between 30-45 miles. So far, It's perfect thickness for my girly. But everyone is different down there. I like the length of the short and also like the gripper. The gripper keeps the shorts stays there. I love the color on the gripper as well. It's not over the top like most other brand. Just nice stripes to add accent. Adding touch of stylishness on the black short. I bought the one with the blue accent on the front. It matches my kit and my helmet.

The only thing I don't like about this shorts is that Gore uses a see through material right on your butt. So you can see through your butt crack. Hm, not sure if I want the guy behind me to enjoy my butt crack during the group ride. So to remedy that, I typically wear a baselayer. But even that, in the summer, the base layer is more like a fish net! Now your butt crack view just got a fish net pattern on it.

I'm not sure why these days every company using a lot more see through material for women shorts. I know they are fighting for cooling shorts, but so far any of my shorts that's not using any see through material, I never at once feels like I'm so hot in my shorts! After all most bike short is like wearing an underwear already. How much cooling do you want to get? So that's all my complaint. Other than than the shorts itself is well made, look stylish, comfortable material, good chamois, perfect inseam and I look good wearing it, ... well except if you don't count the see through of my butt crack :-)

Short Rides Only

I'm just getting into my serious biking, and figured it was time to invest in a new pair shorts with a chamois for comfort. While I really do enjoy these shorts, I wouldn't recommend them for longer rides. I feel the chamois offers minimal support; I don't feel much of a difference between when I'm wearing these padded shorts to my others with no padding. As of right now, my average ride is about 16 miles, and I feel uncomfortable at the end while wearing these. I do, however, love the colors and the length of the legs. I was skeptical about the silicon slip guard on the pant leg, as it's super thin, where my husband's short have a thinner, wider area. I was worried these would ride up while riding (as we do a lot of sprints during our rides), but was surprised to see they stayed in place just fine. The fabric is very comfortable, and I'm happy with the location of the seams. I'm not experiencing any chaffing, which is always a plus in my book. Overall, I would recommend these shorts to beginners like me who are going to mainly focus on short rides, but would definitely recommend steering clear if you're looking for more support for longer rides.

Overall, it is good for short rides.

I like the fact that it is seamless and have comfortable waist but the chamois doesn't provide a support for long rides. No compression. Overall, it is good for short rides.

Upgrade to Xenon

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As stated in the description, the seamless design and comfortable waist are a no-brainer but chamois does not provide for superlative comfort for more than an hour. The shorts have a slightly compressive nylon and elastane fabric to construct the shorts, so not much compression. Also as stated the fabric places these shorts in the middle. That being said there is no comparison, having purchased both the Power 3.0 & the Xenon 2.0. The performance & quality of the Power short & pales in conparsion to the Xenon. So if you can spend a little more you will not regret it!
