Banish cold feet to the cautious.

The Gore Bike Wear Road Shoe Covers insulate cold feet in breathable, Thermo-stretch fabric, so you can pedal through early morning loops without numb toes disturbing your Zen-like state.

The thin and soft fabric sits snugly around your shoes and an open sole, framed by abrasion resistant material, ensures long-wearing utility. A zipper with a semi-locking slider runs the length of the back for easy entry, and reflective piping on the zipper and a logo on the front add visibility during pre-dawn or after-dusk rides. Reflective transfer prints mark right and left, making getting ready in the dark easier.

The Gore Bike Wear Road Shoe Covers come in White and Black. It is available in Small through X-Large. When placing your order, note that each size correlates to a size range Small- 4.5-6, Medium-6.5-8, Large-9-10.5, X-Large-11-13.

Not Very Warm Not Very Durable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: M

I was not impressed by the warmth or durability of these. They only lasted a season before they came apart and really did not do much to help in any temps under 45 degrees. With a pair of warm socks they would maybe go down to 40.

I tried to use these as a pair of shoe covers for winter riding in Boston which to be honest they were probably not well suited for as they are too thin.

These should not have even enter the radar if you plan to ride in really cold weather. You need the insulated version. I have Gore's 2012 version and have ridden in high 20' weather. You have to choose the right tool for the job. I am now looking at the newer models because I want the zipper style.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought shoe covers for cold weather rides around 40-50 degrees and they work great. Kept feet plenty warm.

Does not banish cold feet.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these because they're cheaper than the Gore Road SO Thermo over shoes ($50 vs. $80).

I returned them after two rides: One hour into a ride at 55 F and my toes/feet were frozen.

They're really well constructed like everything Gore makes, but they aren't very good for long rides.

But the Thermo's instead. They keep my feet toasty on 3 hour rides at 45 F. They're a bit bulkier, but you'll thank youself.
