Way too large

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Large

So, I wear a men's 8.5 (and my cycling shoes are men's shoes, so I'm sure about that, thanks). I don't like being right on the cut off, but I've also had issues with ripping shoe covers before, so I thought it'd be safer to order the L. Nope. They were so huge on my RAIN BOOTS from SIDI (as in, already sort of oversized shoes, not super tight shoe-hugging summer shoes with vents and stuff, but high top shoes!) that the hole for the cleat extended past the cleat, past the sole to the shoe on BOTH SIDES (the hole for the cleats were HUGE). The fit around the shoe was HUGE and sloppy, and the only tight thing was the elastic at the calf-- you could have probably fit both of my feet in one of them. And, further, because of the construction, ripping the shoe cover isn't an issue anyway, because you open the entire back to slip the shoe into the cover. But a rain cover that has huge holes and fits like a gunny sack isn't going to help anything and certainly does not justify the price. There is no way anyone who wears a 8.5, 9, or even 9.5 should buy the Large. Does the S/M work? Don't know. When i went to return them to CC they didn't offer an exchange for a smaller size, and now I feel a bit gun shy.

We did figure out how they could offer me a smaller size, and they removed the refunded money from my credit card and sent me the S/M size. These are much better, but still very wide around the shoe. I think that Gore could adjust things better, considering that now I'm wearing a size that is technically smaller than they recommend (see above). If your feet are smaller than (men's) size 7 I would def. skip the S/M size and buy a different product. HOWEVER, I did wear these out on a very wet ride and came home with completely dry feet (wearing these over SIDI rain high top unvented shoes). And the bright yellow is so bright, it's almost like having lights on your feet. Super visibility.
