Meet your new favorite long-sleeve shirt.

While there are a lot of long-sleeve, wind-resistant shirts out there, few match the refined fit and attention to detail found in Giro's new Wind Shirt. Cut and sewn in California, heavily tested by a variety of cyclists for fit and function, it stands as a versatile top that's sure to become a new favorite in your riding arsenal.

Giro's long-sleeve Wind Shirt is a modern take on the waxed-canvas clothing long used for fending off the elements. For the construction, a durable cotton and Lycra blend was employed, which was given a NexTec treatment for shielding your core from wind and light rain. In addition to being an exceptionally tough protective layer, this fabric breathes to ensure you remain fresh and dry while piloting your steed throughout the city.

This top was designed with a slim fit that's been cut to follow your movements while in the riding position. Giro's Ride Position Flex Pleats along the rear panel enhance this fit; the pleats lie flat when you're off the bike, but in the riding position they open up to allow for added stretch. Finishing off the shirt is a two-way front zipper that's concealed by a smooth button placket.

The Giro Wind Shirt - Long Sleeve - Men's is available in sizes Small to XX-Large and in the colors Desert and Jet Black.

It works

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Since it is summer and has not been raining I have not been able to use it in the rain yet, But I did put some water on it with the hose and it just beads right off. I put water on the outside of the shirt while I was wearing it and the inside of the shirt did not get wet at all. The material is a little bit rougher so it defiantly is not the most comfortable to wear with out a shirt on underneath, but it feels just fine with when wearing it with a shirt underneath it. I bought a large and it fits as expected how ever the cuffs on the arms are pretty tight feeling , but I feel like that might be a good thing while riding in the weather

First Gen

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

I have had this shirt for a few years now, maybe first Gen, and I love it. It is actually one of my go-to shirts. I wouldn’t recommend it as an all-day office shirt as stated in another comment. But, for a shirt to wear commuting, or throwing on after a ride it’s perfect. Love that it is not your standard issue shirt; it’s a multipurpose pieces that I recommend throwing in the closet.

Good for commuting, not great casualy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This shirt kinda rustles around like a trash bag i noticed. It's kind of stiff which i assume is because is wind and water resistant and treated with a bunch of stuff. Oddly enough, the black one has a zipper and buttons down the front while the tan one does not. I like the zipper feature and wish the tan one had it as well.

It's not a bad looking shirt its just not that comfortable to wear in the office all day.
