Why We Like The Source MIPS Helmet

When out riding our favorite trails, knowing that our noggins are protected in case we go rubber side up lets us ride with even more freedom. The Giro Source MIPS is a new trail-ready helmet, built with MIPS for a layer that disperses rotational forces upon impact and an adjustable visor to better protect against the glare of the sun. 17 vents help pull air through the helmet, so you can stay cool as you hammer up your favorite climb.

Not action camera/light mount friendly

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Good helmet for the price. Feels good, doesn't hurt the back of my head. Can't tell from the pictures but it is a little blocky looking. The bad is the deep channel that runs right down the centerline of the helmet. it is deep and too narrow to attach a standard action camera mount. I haven't found a solution for this and night riding season is here. BUMMER

Much better fit than prior Giro model, more protective and comfortable.

Great looking helmet with good coverage

This helmet fits well: it wraps around my head nicely rather than just sitting on top (like the Smith Forefront). The Roc Loc system is super comfortable. The helmet sits lower towards the ears, and has longer coverage in the back. And it?s surprisingly super lightweight. The only con is that it may not be as ventilated as some other helmets.
