Sturdy and beautiful. Strange fit
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: 39.5
I really really wanted this shoe to work. Sadly it did not.
The fit was large and small at the same time. My heel would slip on hike a bike yet my toes grazed the end of the shoe.
I really loved the Vibram sole. The past shoes I have worn, the soles got eaten alive and barely made it a season. I could see these shoes lasting and being a winner for rocky hike a bike.
The boa system always great and allowed infinite dial-ability for optimal comfort.
The craftsmanship in the shoe is apparent as well. Total quality.
If Giros fit your foot I would highly recommend this shoe. However it is a very specific fit!!
It’s a very low cuffed shoe and for narrow feet in my opinion. It also runs a touch small. I wear a 7/7.5 and sized to a 39.5.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
Coming from a Giro Terradura, I was interested in seeing if there was any noticeable difference making the jump to the Sica. I love my Terraduras and was hard pressed to find any faults. Until I slid these on. The upper with the Boa and Techlaces is incredibly comfortable and really allows me to dial in the fit. I find that after a few miles of riding, I typically want to adjust the fit. These shoes definitely allow me to do that. The stiff sole supports my foot great for long days on the gravel or mountain bike while the Vibram grip allows for easy hiking off the bike. Arch inserts allow for a range of foot shapes to be comfortable. I did find these to be typical Giro sizing in which sizing up a half size is a good idea for the best fit. I wear 7/7.5 in standard shoes and am happy with the 39.5 in the Sica. Great to see a high end shoe made for the lady shredders!
