Broke on second use,

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

While tightening on the second use, the fastener popped apart. There was a clear break in the plastic. Unfortunately, because it was the dead of winter, I didn't get to use this until three months after and that's when the break occurred (outside of backcountry 30 day return policy). I have sent an email to the warranty department, the suggested route after calling backcountry. I am not optimistic. The lesson I learned, spend the extra cash and get something guaranteed and proven. Now I will likely spend more than I would have if I just went with a better brand.

Decent entry level shoe

I wear a size 9 shoe and have euro sizing road shoes at size 42. Purchased on sale for indoor riding. Seem like a decent entry level shoe for road, and fine for indoor. Flex is fairly standard for this level and being non-carbon. Sizing is spot on, however, the major drawback for my particular fit is the metal buckle/loop for the velcro strap over the large toe knuckle. It creates a painful pressure point when under load.

Great Power Transfer

These shoes fit true to size. The boa system really helps to dial in a secure fit. I have been using them on my trainer so far but they have got the job done and deliver power effectively.
