Comfort and efficiency, meet style.
We think most will agree with us that we use clipless shoes and pedals for a better connection to the bike and more efficiency, but it doesn't mean our shoes don't have to look good. The shoes also need to be comfortable and if it's more of a casual spin or a commute to work, we don't always want our shoes to scream "bike dork." Giro gets us and that’s where the excellent Men's Republic R Knit Shoe slots in. We defy you to find another set of kicks that look this great and clip into pedals.
New to Giro's line this year are knit uppers and these Republics sport a Xnetic Knit material that is specifically made for the rigors of cycling. The knit offers incredible suppleness for sock-like comfort and breathability. What about if it's raining out we hear you asking. It's DWR-treated for water repellency and easy cleaning, and on the front of the shoe, a rubber toe guard combines with a bonded TPU heel on the rear for increased durability and abrasion resistance. Inside the shoe, a TPU skeletal system provides support for the knit outer and Giro uses its molded EVA footbed, providing a medium level of arch support. Reflective laces help keep you safe after the sun goes down, while the nylon and rubber co-molded outsole provides the necessary traction for safely touching your feet down on the ground.
The Giro Republic R Knit shoes are available in whole sizes 37.0 to 48.0 and in the colors Black/Charcoal Heather, and Midnight/Blue Heather.

- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
I've had mine for a couple of seasons now. They've worn well, I ride at least 3 days a week. I think they fit a bit small. I'm a US 10 mens. I usually wear a 43 in euro sizes, I needed a 45 in this particular shoe. Shoes are very comfortable and look good. My feet are on the narrow side, I'm not sure these will work if you have wide feet. I have the blue ones and I like the more subdued look rather than some dayglo color. They also give decent walking ability for instance when you hop off the bike for a lunch stop, or having to portage the bike if I need to on a gravel ride. Overall highly recommended. I did buy mine at a local shop, but being that I've had great experiences with my purchases from Competitive Cyclist, and these being great shoes I'm leaving this review.
